We are going to to DW in Nov 2014. My husband, twin 8 yr old girls and my parents will be going! My husband REALLY wants to stay at BLT, is it worth the money. We need a 2 bedroom villa. I am also considering BW.

We will probably spend most of our time at MK!
What are rooms like? Some people say the rooms are rundown, is that true? Is it a good place for the younger kids to stay.

This is going to be our big disney trip, we usually stay off property.

We were there in May and before we went I had a real hard tiem justifying the cost. Now that we are a couple months back from being there, I'd be hard pressed to stay elsewhere again if BLT is in the budget. It is HARD to beat walking to the Magic Kingdom. The whole building (I think or at least most of it) are 1 br villas with adjoining studios which altogether make the 2br villa? and I was in a room that while it wasn't brand new condition, I certainly thought it was nice. (And I am being super picky saying it wasn't brand new- the dining room table had a shiny finish on it and you could see a few scuffs, but that sort of thing did not bother me at all- the room was clean, stuff was safe, etc.)

If you can, I would get a water view. We were in the center, up on 7th floor looking directly at the pool. At night we could see the electric water pageant from our balcony!

my home resort and I happen to love it!!!

Yes the 2-bedroom are worth it - they are pretty great - you can get a lock off (1-bedroom plus studio) or dedicated.

the difference - the dedicated is basically a bedroom with 2 queen beds.
the studio - has one queen bed and double sleeper sofa in the living area - a kitchennette plus its own balcony.
with kids would go for dedicated.

As stated you can walk or monorail to the MK - walking is definitely faster going to the MK. coming back they are pretty equal.

you have to monorail to Epcot - you transfer from the resort monorail to the Epcot monorail at TTC.

It and CR definitely have stuff for the kids to do. When you check in ask for an activities list for both places. Check in out before you leave for the parks each morning.

Lake view is what most of BLT is and is definitely the easiest to get. Now if you want a MK view - would ask for even room on the north side. As high as possible - if you like that.

The odd number rooms are in a semi-circle around the play area and pool - so you can look into their rooms. for some unknown reason - this is the only dvc resort with only curtains. Not the under curtain you could close and still get light inside. So the rooms are either completely open and light or dark. There is no inbetween here. So prefer the area on the north side and south side - where no one can look easily into your room and you have the curtains open.

It has picnic tables and bbq grills, only one hot tub (most DVC have 2) and a small pool. This is the last pool where would have though a kid could get in trouble - but one did. So make sure you watch your kids = guess because the water is so shallow the kids get braver.

between BLT and CR are nightly movies. there is also a fire pit in the same generally area.

you can rent boats from the marina at CR.

any questions just ask!

Not all two bedroom villas are lockoffs. There are dedicated two bedroom villas. It is a DVC resort (meaning a DVC timeshare and is occupied at least 95-100% all the time).

If you're going to spend most of your time at MK, you can't beat CR/BLT (in my opinion of course!). I just think being able to walk back and forth is awesome. Have fun planning :)
