We've been in this house for 5 years and I still don't have anything over my bay window. Any suggestions? Even better, please post a picture of your bay window. I'm a visual person. :thumbsup2

I don't have a bay window or a picture...but my sister has one and she took a decorative curtain rod and entwined a few window scarves (one solid and one printed) and draped them over the rod. It loooked great.

I'll see if I can find a picture similar to the look...

Ok, I can't find a similar look...but she basically entwined the 2 scarves very loosely and then draped them a few times over the rod (also very loosely)..and the excess just draped down on the ends. Very dramatic, yet simple.

(of course, this is if you do not need privacy...just something to finish the window)

You can never go wrong with sheers, especially if you love light and airy!

That is what I had on our old bay window....just white sheers with decorative curtain rod.

I have verticles in all the windows in the front of the house...they are a bit expensive (they were about 500 a window) but they last long and they are just so easy! I hated all the taking down of curtains and washing them, changing the designs for the seasons etc so these are great, once they are up, thats it! I just had them put in my daughters room too...she has 2 windows (not bay though) and it was 600 for BOTH of those windows!

Thanks for the ideas (and the link). I was thinking about something sheer and drapey. Do they make curtain rods for bay windows or do I need to buy 3 rods (1 for each section)?

I had separate rods. Pretty sure that's probably the easiest way to do it. I bought the kind that were curved on the ends - in other words, you didn't see the rods at all - just the curtain.
