I realize it's immediately adjacent to the Contemporary. How far away is it to get to the contemporary to hop the monorail? Does it have its own busses or does it use the Contemporary's? I am planning a year out and I keep changing my mind about what I want to do.

It is literally attached to the Contemporary. There is a walkway from the 5th floor of BLT that goes to the 4th Floor o the Contemporary (where Chef Mickeys, the quick services restaurant and gift shops are. From there it's a simple escalator ride up to the monorail level.

As far as buses go, BLT shares the Contemporary buses. It's the same stop. You go downstairs to the first level of BLT, walk out the main doors and follow the walkway. It's probably the same distance to the bus stop if you are staying in the Main Tower of the Contemporary.

Check in for BLT is located at the Contemporary as well as airline resort check in.

If you are staying at BLT, you can use BLT's pool or the pools at the Contemporary Resort. If you are staying at the Contemporary, you cannot use BLT's pool.

BLT doesn't have its own buses. They share with the Contemporary (they also made stops at the GF and Polynesian on our last trip.) If you want to get from BLT to the Contemporary for the monorail, there is a sky bridge on the 4th floor that connects the 2 buildings. From there you go up the escalator one floor and catch the monorail. There are signs along the way to help you out, too.

I liked our stay there, but the public areas were kind of missing that Disney feel to me though. Probably because the lobby was small and it felt like a time share.

What I did love is that we rented a car and it was so easy to park and not have to walk a mile to your car. :thumbsup2 Being able to walk to MK was pretty cool too. ;)

I guess it feels like a timeshare because it is a timeshare. BLT is about 95% owned by members, so there it less availability for cash reservation through Disney Reservation Center.

The full name of the resort is Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. So BLT shares amenities with CR. Right now there is only one tower.

they did not want to waste money on a big lobby - BLT is great for us who love the MK - and that was who it was designed for - not guests just staying there who won't come back year after year.

since both BCV and VWL have meeting area off their small lobbies - that are hardily ever use. with BLT they went with a activity center instead. which I appreciate.

they definitely designed the TOWL to impress - but only DVC members get to see it. Now it is also small.

Just want to make sure posters don't think I had a problem with how BLT is setup. I just wanted to say it was different, not bad different, just different...;)
