Bay Lake Towers at 7 months?

I booked on 8/22/10 for 6/3 & 6/4 2011 and was able to reserve a 1bd lake view.

I was on the waiting list for MK, but we decided to stay a few more days. Shockingly (To me) we were able to get a 1 bdrm Boardwalk View at BWV in early Feb for 6/5 - 6/8.

Are there more one bedrroms than studios? I called this week at the 7 month window hoping to book a studio and there were none available....not even for one day! Veterans Day weekend, and the last weekend of Food and Wine.

In my experience, studios generally book faster than 1 BR because lower points, plus at most villas, the studio and 1BR accomodate the same # of people - 4. Not only does Vererans Day fall at the end of F & W festival, it is also Jersey week so it is a very high demand time. We are currently booked at BLT 1BR LV from 11/4-8. We are on a waitlist for 11/8-10 but at least be are booked at BCV for the WL dates. Sign up of the WL and hope fo the best!

I booked a 1 bedroom MK view at 7 months with no problem.
The CM at MS told me I got the last MK view that was showing in the system, but she didn't say anything about lake or standard views....

We're going in September, so it's not really a packed season so I don't know if that made a difference or not.

When exactly is Jersey week? One state with a school break creates a large demand?

The conference is Fri/Sat, so no school those days, plus they get election day off(we get it off in our district too). So with school just Mon and Wed, people just take the full week off.

From 5 yrs here on the DIS boards and reading about Jersey Week, that's what I've been able to piece together.

I have not had luck within 6 months, but maybe right at the 7 month window you will have a chance.

I have been able to get a few days and do split stays.

Quick question, does Bay Lake Towers usually book-up before the 7-month window opening?

We're going the middle of March next year and I was wondering if this should even be an option. We're looking for a 1-bedroom villa.

I'm assuming the standard & MK view rooms will be snatched up by BLT owners, but what about Lake views .

Thanks for any input.

Last year we were there the first week of March, had no problem getting a Lake View Studio.

Most of the conferences run the whole week--many districts vary slightly, but the ones I'm familiar with are actually off Thursday and Friday and have half days Mon/Tue/Wed. Not sure about the Tuesday off day, haven't heard of that. B/c of the half days, many parents take their kids out of school. Several members of my family stayed at OKW last year during Jersey week and were thrilled at how NOT crowded the parks were. I told my brother that this was "Jersey week", and he said you wouldn't have known it to be any different. I have read conflicting reports on this, this is just one account. I do know that this year Jersey week is the last week of F&W AND the Friday of that week (11th) is Veterans Day, so I think at least the end of that week would set up to be quite busy.

i've been very lucky in switching for a standard studio, thrice:

week after Thanksgiving
the hard-to-get 1st week of Dec &
just last week was able to get a night pre-cruise end of July

fingers crossed something may be open this year for us @ the 7 month window same week in Dec as i have nothing currently booked

In Feb 2011, I was able to get a 1 bedroom SV for a group of friends that wants to join us while we are down there in May 2011. I wasn't expecting anything to be available at BLT and jokingly asked and was surprised to find out there was availability.
