Going to try to get into the dvc room at the top of Bay Lake Tower in early December. Anyone know if it is difficult to get in? Any other input on this subject would be great!

Its easy to get to the DVC members lounge, Top of the World. Go to the ground floor of BLT and show the attendant your DVC Member card and your Resort ID (KTTW) card. They will take you up in a special elevator.

Only problem is, and I know this is terrible, we are not staying on Disney property. So, I won't have a key to the world card. We are going in for just a few days before out Disney cruise.

That is a problem. They are only supposed to allow DVC members staying on property to go up.

Are you a DVC member and just not staying on property? Or are you neither?

If you're neither, don't waste your time. They won't even entertain the idea.

We are DVC members, but not staying on property.

PPs are correct, access to TOTWL is a perk for members staying on site.

This is from the member site:

From now through Dec. 29, 2012, Disney Vacation Club® Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at the Walt Disney World® Resort (whether they booked with vacation points or cash) may enjoy complimentary access to one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: the Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

And this:

This perk is available exclusively to Members and those in their traveling party who are staying on that Member's reservation. At least one Member in the traveling party must accompany the group and present his or her current Key to the World card displaying a Disney Vacation Club Membership notation in order to gain admission to the lounge.

Just got back last week and we had to show our room key to prove we were staying on property.
