Planning an adult only trip with my 2 sisters and have reservations at the AKV for 6 nights but a bay lake tower magic kingdom view came available for the first night. I haven't had the chance to stay there yet. Is it worth the view of the fireworks to stay just 1 night? We will be traveling light so luggage shouldn't be too much of an option.

Thanks for your input

Personally I think it's a pain spending just one night at a given hotel--particularly a Disney hotel. You may not get into the room until after 4pm and then you'll have to be out by 11am the next day. When you factor in the hassle of multiple check-ins, even some limited amount of unpacking/repacking and the fact that it's impossible to feel settled for the first 36 hours of a trip, it's just not worth it IMO.

YMMV.

if you would like to stay at blt, to stay there one night like take it off your bucket list of things to do, then perhaps yes is the answer you are looking for. i'm not sure when you may be travelling, but if before dec. 29, members may staying at Disney operated/owned resort on points/cash may go the TOTWL. this may be a nice chance to see fireworks. :3dglasses

For us we don't mind the split stay even if only just one night. We did it before DVC and after for various reasons. We did it last year for 1 night in a THV because we added that night on much later after our initial reservation and were thrilled to get THV. It was worth the "hassle" of switching for us and would do it again. If you don't mind the limited time of having the room, checking in and out, etc. and really want to try out BLT it could work out well.

We did the first night of a 9 night stay in a 2 bedroom TPV at BLT...loved it...we were on the 12th floor...I will do the last night in a studio on my next trip...couldn't get first night. But it'll be a real treat for my friend. We loved going back from MK in the pm to swim, and also the check out day...GO FOR IT! You are all adults, we had a 5 and 2-1/2 the fireworks from the balcony was priceless. :wizard:

I had to shorten my F&W trip, but did keep 1 night at BLT so that we can see HalloWishes from the TOWL! The rest of the trip is at BCV!

Personally we enjoy the split stays and found it to be very little hassle. We call the housekeeping (bell boy) tell them we are moving to another DVC hotel and they label all our bags and deliver them directly to the other hotel. We give them a good tip and everyone is happy. We than hit the parks go back for a swim at our new resort and our room with luggage is ready for us.

Not very painful at all.:)

I have never stayed at BLT but only heard great things and it is on my list!

Top of the world is better than watching in-room

-mk view is as low as the 3rd to 5 th flor
-music is through tv in room
-must keep balcony dor open to hear music on your tv
-no screen door.... Nighttime... Lots of bugs fly into your room

June, 12th floor, TV Loud...no bugs at all on the patio??? Too high???? We'll see what we get in October.
