Bay Lake Tower Theme Park View- worth it or no?

Yes, the fireworks are very close, very close. "Worth it" is tough. Will you be in your room for fireworks? If you get a lower floor, you will mostly see a parking lot, MK. The views get better the higher you are but if you aren't balcony people that like to sit out and watch the world go by then it's probably not.

Do you think the theme park view at Bay Lake Tower is worth it? Are the fireworks really that close? TIA
I’ve never stayed at BLT but at Contemporary I preferred lake view. Could watch the water show, and if we wanted to see the fireworks we could go to the terrace.

Theme park view is worth it to my family. We aren't all night owls, so some of us are often back in the room by the time the fireworks start, and it's a great way to end the day.

I will say that the more recent (and upcoming) shows that heavily feature projections on the castle are worth watching at least once in the park. Viewing from your BLT balcony is no substitute for seeing it from the hub or main street. You gotta do it at least once.

I personally avoid theme park view because of the risk of room location. The theme park view rooms start on the fifth floor. Higher floor is a non-guaranteed request. If you get 8th floor or above, TP view is fine and possibly worth the extra points. The problem is that getting 5th or 6th floor will make you will feel like you have been ripped off by the higher points requirement, since the main view from those rooms is a large parking lot and a monorail track. Seventh floor is better but still not as good as higher floors.

I prefer Lake View to be honest. Theme Park View is essentially parking lot view. If you're like me, I like to wake up and sit on the balcony and relax. Hard to do that with TPV since all the boats, busses, and employees are up and about at 6am getting things ready.

We have only stayed at the Contemporary but feel the same. The Lake view gives you are variety of things to look at all day long. The extra charge at the Contemporary for Park View isn't worth the extra price to us. You mostly look at a parking lot and can't really seem much of MK except for the tops of the tallest structures.

That's very subjective. Personally I would not pay for a better view, if I can find availability for a cheaper view. I once got a partial Savannah view at AKL (paying standard points) and while it was still a nice view with a lot of animals, I really used it no more than a few minutes a day. Others really love to sit and relax on their balconies and find a better view an important part of the vacation.

Like others said, "Theme Park view" is largely a parking lot view, with the theme park in the distance. It's cool as a one time thing, but not something I'd be compelled to spend the extra points on regularly. I think a lake view is more scenic and relaxing. It also comes down to how much time you will really spend sitting on your balcony enjoying the view.

we Bought when it first opened. “Had” to have a theme park view. We had some really great ones, and then some not so great ones...like close to the walking bridge and not a good fireworks view. So we started branching out. We’ve had some really great lake views that you could see some fireworks, lake views of just the lake which is beautiful at sunrise, some stinky standard views (you get what you pay for) and some really great standard views. If we get a studio for a night or two, we may opt for a Theme park if it’s not a Friday or Saturday. Getting stingy with our points because we like to stay longer. Benefit of retirement.

had friends with little ones with TPV and all the kids wanted to do was go to castle. They had a really hard time getting their 3,5 and 7 yr old not to cry if they weren't going to Magic kingdom, and it started at 7am. needless to say, that was the last and only time they took a theme park view. however, some people won't take anything else, and will wait all day for a 7th floor or higher view, so, it's subjective IMHO.

I would say go for it, do it once to experience it. Then you will know if it's worth it. You get more points every year.

Does anyone know if there is a map that tells you which rooms have which view? I know someone made a list but I'd really like to see more of a map

It is a map of sorts though? Shows you what rooms on each floor are where and what type.

It is just too confusing for my small mind lol. I have seen one before for another resort that uses the resort layout map. Maybe though that is not possible with BLT. Looks like it may not really be in sections.

Here's a different BLT room map

When looking at those blocks of numbers, you need to imagine you're standing in the parking lot and looking up at the front of the building, or standing at the pool and looking up at the back of the resort. You see the lobby in the center and the floors rising above it. Then you can see the color coded rooms indicating the room type (in the first diagram) or the view type (in the second diagram).

The problem with using floor plan layouts to do this for BLT is that the first six floors each have a unique combination of room views, so there would need to be at least six different maps of the resort to show everything.
