Hello DVC family. I own at BLT but have never stayed in a studio. I was wondering for those who have stayed at Grand Floridian which would you prefer? A Bay Lake theme park view studio or a Grand Floridian standard view studio? I really love the new studios of the GFV and wanted to try it out.

TIA!

Some huge pros to VGF ( studio not resort room):
1) Better pools
2) bigger room with 3 beds and sleeps 5
3) two showers
4) newly refreshed whereas BLT is in dire need
5) view still is very nice (request monorail view)
6) can walk to poly for more dining

Personally I’d go with TPV BLT but you should try VGF if you haven’t yet! Especially since BLT is one of your home resorts try something new :)
This was my dilemma. . I wanted the location of BLT and to try a TPV but, I have really wanted to try out GF without sacrificing more points.

I really liked the look of the new resort room but, I also like the view of the monorail. It is just the two of us so we wouldn't need room for 5 or a second bathroom. Would you still recommend the studio? I was also curious about what a standard view would give me in a resort room view. We won't be there but two or three nights at the end of our split stay.

I would do VGF if in the Deluxe studio not resort studio. We don't do BLT anymore since we had to walk down 9 flights of stairs on a fake alarm years ago. We are in our 70's

The resort studio drops to one bathroom and can be a view of the pool. You also lose the sofa in a comfortable position to watch tv. There will be one it’s just on the same wall as the tv.

I still recommend the studio (and even the resort room) over BLT. But I personally just don’t value the theme park view over the bigger room, newer furnishings, and easier access to Poly for more food options.

Resort studio was too noisy, I won't be staying there again. I assume you are talking about not resort rooms.

I've stayed both and prefer standard (monorail) view. Because of the angle of the building, a lot of the standard have a pretty good view of fireworks too.

I stayed in a std view resort studio over marathon weekend this year in January and loved it. We were on the third floor and overlooked the pool. We had three of us so having the 2 real beds was quite nice. Having stayed in both Big Pine and the primary DVC building, I really enjoyed the location of Big Pine to the pools and main lobby/transportation area.

Any particular reason you would choose the deluxes studio over the resort studio? I was particularly interested in the hues of the resort studio. It looks beautiful.

Well I am given two options the resort studio and the deluxe studio. I am not sure what I am looking at to tell you the truth. I have only been to GFV to eat. I know nothing of the resort rooms themselves.

We have always had a group with us with one acceptation when we stayed at Riviera and loved it. I am trying to knock off staying at every resort. We have stayed at RIV BLT BRV BWV and PVB so far and I just put an offer in for OKW so that's next trip. We have no need to stay at CCV as we own at BRV.

I never dreamt I would go back to Disney World in my lifetime but, I found a better job and we now go every year and even bring others who have never been.

So far the favorite resort of everyone from my camp is BWV. It was our first stay and the location is the best.

The deluxe studios are actual studios. They have a kitchenette and a split bath area that has 2 showers. Also, a fully functioning fridge, if that is important. The second bed is a Murphy queen that folds down from the couch. As a couple, we much prefer this layout. Also, since we drive, the parking is much more convenient to the original VGF1 building.

The “Resort Studios” are just regular 2 queen hotel rooms. Also, they have a beverage cooler instead of a fridge.

Just my two cents, I put up family members in a resort studio last winter while we were in a 1BR and they gave a very positive review, although it did make more sense for their travel party (2 individuals, not the most mobile, so proper beds and a big wide bathroom vanity was better than the murphy). I asked about the noise issue and they said they did not notice it, but they were 3rd floor at the end of a hallway so its possible the foot traffic was lower there than if you are in a room closer to the elevator.

The not-resort rooms are in the 2013 DVC tower. They are wonderful. The resort rooms are the old, flipped building. They didn't fix the noise. I won't be back.

VGF but has to be deluxe studio, resort studios are just hotel style rooms IMHO.

We stayed in a deluxe studio preferred view at VGF facing the lake and loved it. I wouldn't mind staying in the deluxe standard studio facing the monorail either.
