*** Bay Lake Tower Owners Group***

Anyone know the timeframe for them to do the first set of reno's (on the higher floors)? If they are currently working on ground foor to level 5, I'm trying to get a sense of whether we will get a refurbished standard/resort view 2-BR for our trip Mid May.

I believe the high floors on the south side are done and they are working on the lower floors on the South side currently. Someone correct me if this is wrong.

Finally stayed at BLT as it was one of the few I haven't yet and I really have to say I loved it...it was very different from the other monorail resorts and the Crescent Lake ones, and definitely the least "luxurious" but my family loved it regardless. And we didn't get a refurbed room either...the sofa bed was literally in a condition worse than something you would find at the Salvation Army. The vent by the door had an electrical buzzing noise that worried me that there might be an electrical fire. The skybridge was closed obviously so kept having to go down...across...then back up to 4th floor for Contempo...but even with all that it was still so nice to be in what felt like an annex of MK. I booked a Lake View room and had a very clear view of the castle and fireworks. And the pool is nothing to write home about and there is just so much concrete everywhere but we will definitely look to stay at BLT again. Especially for that "private entrance with private security" feel. Maybe next time can actually get a refurbed room!

Shhhh....

Bay Lake is terrible. No one wants to stay there! Keep the secret going.

I booked my first BLT trip in theme park view studio for extended Halloween weekend . What is best room to request and when should I put it in. ?

For a theme park view room, I think you're all set. Only thing I can think of is the higher the floor the better the views of the park. Anything 6th floor and higher should be ok. The lower floors have an increased view of the parking lot in front of the tower. Others may know better on the room request.

We haven't had so many issues with the non refurb rooms, but still think the refurbs look great by comparison. Anyway, imagine how much more lovely your stay will be once the skybridge gives you quicker access to the restaurants and monorail!

I especially like your description of feeling like an "annex" to MK. You see CR and BLT from Tomorrowland and vice versa, and you can tell the resort is intentionally part of the background -- the closest we have at WDW to what Grand Californian Hotel does for Disney's California Adventure :D

The biggest complaint i read about BLT and views is that you get the parking lot in the view. Are there any rooms or room types that you don't see the parking lot, but can still see the MK fireworks? I'm guessing no because thats the way the building faces, but maybe there's something I don't know

There are some preferred view (formerly lake view) rooms on the north end of the tower that have a partial view of the MK.

To add to the previous poster, in those rooms you have to turn to the left to see the fireworks and you do get a view of the dumpster. But it's not a bad option imo. I like the tranquility of Bay Lake on that side

The problem is if you really want the fireworks view, what are the chances you'll actually get lake with fireworks 🤔

Your comment got me to thinking. Dug up some pics from the last trip we took to BLT. Pics from the 12th floor and the walkway area which I think is the 5th floor. Something I noticed, for the fireworks at night I don't really notice the parking lot as much as its dark. Hope this helps.

If you really want fireworks view, then you need theme park view because there are a lot of preferred/lake views so the chances are small.

I love waking up and seeing MK from my window, or seeing Seven Seas Lagoon resorts and Main Street, Tomorrowland lights at night. But I don't really watch the fireworks from the room, I much prefer to be in front of the castle for the "correct" perspective. So then I wonder if TP view is worth it for me... lately have been doing standard/resort.

Thanks for sharing! That 12th floor standard view is really nice! We stayed in two different rooms in January, one was lake and one had the view of the pool, so I haven't got to experience theme park yet. I did see it though from the window by the elevator and I was delighted how close space mountain and tron was, I didn't realize it was so close to the resort and your right at night the parking lot is pretty obscure!

I haven't experience it yet with the piped into music from the room. My first time seeing the MK fireworks ever was in the park last month. I cried, it was so beautiful. I think it would be hard to top that. How is the experience from the Villains Lair and California grill compare to the room experience?

FYI, there's no standard on the 12th floor. Standard (now resort) is low floors, usually facing the parking lot. All higher floors on the MK side (I think 5th and up) are theme park view rooms.

Nothing will top what you described, the perspective of being in MK, in front of the castle. But after you've seen it a few times, you may want to get that little feeling of happy but from the comfort of your room or the lounge. I've seen it from the rooms at CR, BLT, and Villains Lair, all pretty similar. It's nice because that song is awesome, but you can't see the projections on the castle much and the fireworks are not angled right and distant. So I'd say it's good enough for when you don't feel like going through the hassle of exiting MK post-fireworks, you can still get a fireworks fix from BLT/CR.

I'm at the point where I've seen it enough that I'll either go through the hassle to get a good view in-park, or just do something else entirely. But I have seen it A LOT, lol

The first picture he posted that says 12 floor day, is that a standard room? Yeah I figured it wouldn't be as good, it was amazing. But yes a view is always better than no view at all!
