I know the BLT refurbishment goes to or through Sept. But does anyone know current status? Like did they start top floor down? How many floors are completed if any? Thanks!
When we were there in january it seemed like the laundry room side was completed because we stayed in a refurbished room on that side on two different floors and they were both high, but i am not 100% sure. What i do know is The whole right side was completely closed off as was the Walkway to the contemporary.I know the BLT refurbishment goes to or through Sept. But does anyone know current status? When I was there half of the building was closed off including the bridge to the Contemporary. I think that is closed until April. I did have a refurbished room.
You can request one at check in, we did and were given one. Specifically we had 7840, which I highly recommend for a preferred view studio. Nice view of the marina, the bay, and most importantly you can easily see the Epcot ball all lit up at night and enjoy the Epcot fireworks as well. Thanks for the heads up. We are in process of buying a BLT contract (waiting for ROFR) and just switched a short stay in June to a Preferred View Studio. This will be our first stay and trying to get the lay of the land with what will be under construction and the realistic view on whether or not we might get a refurbished room. I don't want to get our hopes up, but it sure would be nice.
I think they've only done higher floors so far. We had booked a standard view studio and apparently there aren't any refurbished ones available yet. Once this next lot is done though there will be, as others have pointed out that they're currently working on ground floor to level 5 on the Contemporary side of the building.I know the BLT refurbishment goes to or through Sept. Honestly, other than the lack of USB charging points (which was really only an issue for us as Aussies travelling with only one US adapter), we didn't really have a problem with the non-refurbished room.
Do you remember what rooms those where? Floor? Number? We were in lake view studio both times and those were refurbished
Yes i have a picture of the room number of one it was 7825!Do you remember what rooms those where? Floor? Number?
But the floor didn't match the room number, I remember thinking that was weirdDo you remember what rooms those where? Floor? Number?
That would be on the 8th floor. But the floor didn't match the room number, I remember thinking that was weirdthis one had a view of marina and we could see the electric water pageant. We did not know what that was and we were quite surprised at the random display at 10 something at night

Thank you, couldn't figure it out, that is so randomThat would be on the 8th floor.
BLT has 4 digit room numbers starting with a 7 or 8.
The next number is the floor and the last 2 are the room.
Floors 1-9 are 7xxx
Floors 10-16 are 8xxx
Not sure why they do that but that is how it works.
We didn't hear any construction noise either when we stayed so that was great. The water parade IS loud, we usually don't sleep until 11pm so we were fine with it, but I wondered how people with kids or that go to bed earlier feel about thisI just got back from a stay in a 2 bedroom dedicated room. This was our first stay at BLT. We requested a refurbished room but did not receive one. At first I was a little disappointed when I got the room number and realized it was on the north side, but once we got to the room everything was fine. The carpet had a few snags but otherwise it was in decent shape. We had beautiful views from our balcony and I really liked the room layout and location.
We were in room 8205 on the 12th floor. I was worried about sleeping on the foldout couch but it was fine and my back didn't hurt in the morning. The elevators were crowded and having the walkway closed and one bank of elevators closed was not ideal, but we managed. We just left a little earlier in the morning to get to the parks. We did not hear any construction noise. The only noise was the water parade at 10 pm. So loud! Still had a magical visit! Housekeeping was great and brought us some requested items right away. Kids loved the splash pad and pool but were too little to try the slide. Hot tub was nice and hot! We went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast and it was a good time. Loved the beignets!
I look forward to staying in a refurbished room sometime in the future.

The 1st number identifies the building at the resort. 4 is CR tower. 5 is the south wing. I believe that the north wing used to be 6. They apparently decided not to reuse 6 after they tore down the noth wing to build BLT and started with 7 for BLT. The first floor with rooms has 1 for the 2nd number and so on. Since BLT is the highest building they needed to go to 8's after they hit the 79xx.That would be on the 8th floor.
