so i called member services and the magic kingdom view at bay lake tower will not only face the magic kingdom but it will have to be "above the tree line"? rooms of all sizes will be available with a magic kingdom view as well.

they didnt give me what floors will be included in the magic kingdom view but the point is that the magic kindgom view rooms wont be on levels too close to the ground.

also they still dont have details on how the observation deck will work

I think some of the artwork is misleading as it almost appears that the outside 'center' section of BLT will face the MK and that is not quite the case. The MK is to the northwest of BLT for the most part, but the main street railroad station does look to be due west of the center section.

which trees the ones at BLT (which appear to be mostly gone) or the ones at the MK?

i assume it would have to be high enough to clear all the trees between the rooms and the magic kingdom.

think of it this way, if someone uses a lot of extra points just to have a magic kingdom view (instead of a lake or standard view) and they dont end up having a good/clear view, thats going to be 1 very unhappy customer!!

tell that to the dvc members who paid preferred points and had a tree blocking everything or service building -

will not believe it - until the DVC members are check in and can say these are wonderful views. Still believe that DVC will still play the treat that if it can be seem it is a MK view. No matter how hard it is to see the MK.

or the vwl - service building view.

they have done it too many times for me to be a believer.

20% of the rooms if the start with say 6th floor and above - those will NOT all get a perfect view of the MK. some will definitely be getting a side view.

I'm with you Spicy.....I want to hear from posters who actually stay in MK view rooms. How high up do the rooms need to start to be able to have a MK view? I am not fond of hieghts. ...so I will be paying close attention as to at what level the MK view starts.

Remember it's only 80 or so rooms max. The important thing to remember is that a MK view is not necessarily castle view. For all we know, the Space Mountain roof could be a MK view. :lmao:

I'm sure there are some great MK view rooms. My experience with an AKV savanna view room that was blocked by trees tells me that there is a real possibility that the view may be disappointing.

Well all I can say is if the room doesn't have a great view, then this December will probably be our first and only time that we will be using all those points for it. We will probably just downgrade to the lake view. I think those will be well worth it. We usually alternate BWV Boardwalk view with standard view, so we are familiar with less than stellar views. If it's not worth the extra 18 points per trip (3 nights, 1BR, early Dec.), I'd rather get a fourth night every third year. DH didn't even want to buy the extra points for the MK view in the first place, so I'm hoping it's really good or I may never be seeing it from my BLT room again. Ha, ha!. We'll just have to wait and see.

now if they added the castle suite into dvc, thats a garanted MK view

As I've posted in the past, "view" in timeshare terms generally means location and not specific view from that unit. However, I think when DVC sets up a category initially as a separate view with higher points costs, it generally IS a view of what's stated as best as possible within the parameters. I am confident they will set the parameters for MK view in such a way (floor, etc) that one can expect a decent view of the MK. That doesn't mean that a lower floor somewhat toward the CR will have the same view as a top floor room that is more head on. I think it's only reasonable to expect that those in the lower floors will be able to see the train station, some of tomorrow land and some lights at night and not much else. Anyone who isn't going to be comfortable with that should likely not pay extra for the MK view. Just another example of why DVC should return to a real request system so that members at that resort can have a priority for better views where they own and based on a reasonable prioritization.

Bluegreen has been adding in Presidential suites and lake homes to their system. The points are generally in the range of 3-4 times a comparable unit and often sleep little or no more people. They are often very large, have pool tables, etc. At 2500-3000 points or more for a week, it might not be difficult to get it some times of the year.

We will probably just downgrade to the lake view.

JMHO, but I don't think of the lake view as a downgrade. Personally, I think I will find it more relaxing and a really beautiful view. The MK views will be at least a partial bus stop view or parking lot view in some cases.

Thank you for your post. We are staying MK view in Sept.

If you think of BLT like a giant C. Many of the lake view rooms are on the interior of C and the patios of the rooms at the top and bottom of the C will be facing each other. The only way to see the lake is to walk out on the patio and look right or left.

If possible try to get rooms at the end of the C for the best lake views.
