Bay lake tower-is the theme park view really worth the extra $$$?

Its a tough one. If we did Bay lake again, we would probably do it.

We were hoping to get a side view, but wound up getting a lake view.

Every morning, we would walk to the elevators and look out the big windows there with the full theme park view, and it made your stomach drop every time.

i think it would honestly be for me, and not for my kids, if we did it! but then i was thinking we really aren't going to be spending that much time in the room-probably not enough to justify that amazing view! (that 1K could cover most of our park tickets after all) i heard the lake view was probably not worth upgrading from standard view?

The one thing you get with TPV (aside from waking up to the castle in the morning) is a decent fireworks viewing spot from your room. they pipe the fireworks music in through one of the TV channels at the contemporary so I presume they do it in the tower too.

is it loud? Im guessing our kids will be passed out from sheer exhaustion fairly early so won't want to wake them. sorry-have not stayed at BLT yet!

the windows are farly sound proofed but you'll hear/feel some muffled booms. You'll get that either side though

I stayed there in May, standard view, and we were able to see the park and watched fireworks from our balcony every night (when we weren't in the park anyway). We wouldn't have had a better view of the park if we had had a them park view, it would have just been guaranteed. That being said this was one of those time when touring plans room request service worked beautifully. We could hear the booms inside too, one night my mom was outside watching while I was in bed messing around on my computer and you could definitely hear loud booms, I know if my kids were much younger they would have probably woken up, but at 8 and 11 they probably would have slept through it if they weren't out there watching them with us.

They do the channel too, although we didn't need it as they pipe it outside and we could hear the music perfectly without turning our tv on

I love the theme park view. When my kids were younger, they didn't like being in the park for fireworks. It was great to get ready for bed and go out on the balcony in our pjs and watch the fireworks. It was so peaceful. I also liked watching the monorail go by while drinking my morning coffee.

Exception here but I love the lake view. Beautiful and I’m not looking at a parking lot in addition to the tpv. But I’m obviously in the minority 😂
Also known as the most expensive parking lot view in the world :)

If you don't get a higher villa, you may be disappointed. You could be on the seventh floor and not see as much as the 12th floor. A higher floor is just a request.

Just to speak to the loud “booms,” my kids are 2 and 5 and slept peacefully through the fireworks every night at BLT. Our room was probably as close to space mountain as you can get, so pretty close proximity to the noise. We thought the Poly was MUCH louder during fireworks time - probably bc it’s an older resort and sound proofing not as great.

I have had both views. At night the Theme park view is amazing. In the morning, when I am sitting on my balcony drinking coffee, the Lake view is my favorite.

thanks-very helpful to know! we travel with noise makers, but if anything wakes my 3 year old, she's up for hours no matter the time!

I definitely think the MK view is worth the money. It’s amazing......and I find it to be mesmerizing.

That is my favorite room on property. It’s even better with kids, I’ve done it both ways. I love sitting on the balcony and watching the fireworks. Being away from the crowds and then walking into the room right after they end to go to sleep is wonderful. The tv will have a channel for the music.
