I know many parents have concerns over the balconies and their children going over. I took a few photos of my son, who is 4'8", at the railing for perspective to help them decide if they should take extra precautions or even try another resort. I also had him stand on the outdoor chair for those whose kids are climbers. (Don't worry, he's 13 and I was right behind him.
)
In addition, there are two locks on the door. They are fairly simple locks, though. And the door is difficult to slide. I did pull my back opening it one morning.

As many have said on this thread, there's NO problem when the parent sets rules and provides even minimal proper supervision. To suggest balconies should be modified because an unsupervised or poorly supervised child might hurl himself over the railing is ridiculous!
