Bay Lake Tower @ 7months Next Thanksgiving?

Hi All -

We are planning next year's trip -- and will be here over Thanksgiving. I will need to book a full week stay -- and due to my In-Laws in their 80s, moving rooms is not really a good option. Home resorts are VWL and AKL.... we thought it would be great to try Bay Lake... any thoughts on likelihood of being able to book at 7month window? I will need to book WL and AK points separate at 11mo. and then try to combine at 7month...

You have a good chance for a lakeview room at exactly 7 months. I suspect standard views will be gone by the end of the days they open at 11 months.

For Thanksgiving 2013 and 2014 at 7 months out from the Sunday of Thanksgiving week, you would not have been able to get days around Thanksgiving in any room category at BLT absent using the wait list. Also, you should reserve either VWL or AKV using the 11 month window
because even those had days gone during Thanksgiving week at 7 months out from the Sunday of that week, including the Wednesday and Thursday for AKV savanna and standard view other than 1BRs.

I have tried for that week at BLT for 2014 and 2012 and had no luck. Tried right at 7 months. I did however get in for a week there during Christmas week 2010. But it helped that I was able to get 4 nights right away and then only had to waitlist 3. They came through just about a month and a half before our trip!

Good luck, but I would have alternate plans at your home resorts.

If you have enough points, you might want to borrow your next year's points to make as many nights at one resort as possible. Then bank the other resort points.
