Battery recycling/disposal?

Where can we dispose of or recycle batteries at a resort or park? Our camera's chew up and spit out the AA's and we don't want to just throw them in the trash. Swan/Dolphin's website says that they recycle for internal operations, but I haven't seen anywhere there's a battery drop off for guests.

Get rechargeable and keep 2-3 sets ready then charge at night. Much better option than tossing. Most charges now days will charge 4 in about an hour.

And if you can't use rechargeables......just keep the AA and bring them home and recyle them there!

If I can suggest something in rechargeables, try these:

Eneloop AA Batteries

I bought them on a recommendation from a friend, and they last longer and hold their charge much, much better than standard rechargables.

I also got this charger:

La Crosse Technology BC-700 Alpha Power Battery Charger

It's not cheap, but it just charges them enough, which makes them work better and last longer overall. Plus it charges AA and AAA batteries one at a time if you need that.

I'm bringing them for my camera, and so far they're lasting quite well as I've tested them out.
