Just an FYI.....

There are often a few sales on batteries....especially at CVS and Target.

BUT the best deal I have found is at Michael's craft store.....each week there is a 40% off any reg price item(either on line or in Sunday paper). This week I got an email with a 2 day 50% off.

So, the coupon is like a make your own sale... a sale on batteries whenever you need them. This was awesome news at our house because usually batteries are so pricey and we are needed them more often lately.

Great tip! Never thought about batteries at Michael's.

Another good one is at Staples. Seems like every other month they have a promo for two 16-packs of AA or AAA batteries free after rebate (rebate in form of Staples Rewards dollars). I always grab these as the kids go thru them so quickly! :thumbsup2

Do they sell brands like Duracell and Energizer? Great tip!

Another tip - you can go to www.acmoore.com and print off coupons whenever you need one. Michaels will take them.

Thanks!! I would never think to purchase batteries there. I'll have to try that next time I'm over that way since I think we are close to needing more.

Are A.C Moore coupons better than Michael's coupons? Michael's accepts coupons on smartphones so I always just pull up the 40% or 50% off coupon on my phone.

Ever looked on batteries.com? We've purchased there numerous times throughout the years, mostly tool and laptop batts now that kids are older. Have bought their house brand AA & AAA with good results and perceived good price. Their website frontpage has 4 pack of Eveready AAA Gold batts for 97 cents, if that's a good price.

...especially with kids' toys that may already have batteries "pre-installed"!

Those "pre-installed" batteries run the risk of going-bad within days, because:
  • They are normally manufactured overseas (China) with the toy and carry such name brands as "Vinnie", etc.
  • If the toy is accessible to children while at the retail store, they may have played with it until the batteries ran down
  • Some toys intentionally come equipped with "limited use" batteries.
So, make sure you stock-up on those AAs and AAAs!!
