Bat's Day 2008 (aka Goth Day)

I am unsure how many people know but this year Bat's Day has been moved to Nov. 9th.

If you don't know Bat's Day is the unoffical gathering of gothic, industrial, EBM, Lolita and other "dark alternative" people having a huge meet up at Disneyland. The event has been going on for 10 years and brings in more people every year (approx 2000-3000 last year I think?). In the past it was in August but event goer's pushed for it to move. This year it is in November, next year it will be the first Sunday in May.

This might effect crowds some, but it is unknown how many are attending this year with the change to the event date. It will effect the styles you might see hehe! There will be a large photo in the afternoon at the castle and usually a small take over of the Manison in the late evening.

Again this is an unoffical event so while Disney knows about the event they are in no way in charge of the event.

Um, does this mean what I think it means? If so, that's more dark and alternative than I think I'd like to see.

That's my son's birthday.. so we will be heading to the parks anyway.... this should make for an interesting day..... If it is to crowded we will stay in DCA....

It's not "Lolita" in the sense of the classic novel. It's a style of dress involved in the anime/goth fan set. No harm, no foul.

As mentioned no, Lolita tends to be about Victorian cuteness, mixed with large doses of Japanese sensibility.

This group tends to be family friendly, they even have a special Baby Bat's show at the Sword in the Stone for the events kids. The event is at DL cause they all love DL and follow all the rules. I mostly point it out for possibly larger crowds that day.

I have known about this event, for at least the past few years, and am interested in attending. It is just a matter of when.
I need to figure out,what shoes I could wear, that would go with my outfits, that will not kill my feet,as it were,being in the park all day long.

See, this message, is a result, of someone having posted on another thread, regarding the travesty, that I apparently, and most inadvertently, seized upon their person, by committing, a grammatical crime. Tisk, tisk, I hope that there is not a fine, for such controversy, for I rather like my run on sentences. Also, I do like to use words, that might make it necessary for some to look them up in the dictionary, not out of haughtiness, but rather, for the sheer pleasure that I take in stating what I consider good, and most appropriate as well. I am so sorry for that too! but tough! I like my dictionary, and love spell check, so you see, I am not all that bad! (so I like to think, anyway!)
