Bathroom Trash Can ADDED

Maybe your DH is referring to the size? No way does a tiny trash can work in my bathroom. I found I toss way more trash into a tiny trash can than my tossing out the trash schedule for the bathroom. Stuff would always be piling up on top and overflowing. Or the empty shampoo bottle doesn't fit in. The toilet paper cardboard tubes would end up out of the can, etc.

Once someone on Tiktok said to just replace it with a decent sized trash container for function, a light bulb went off. What the industry decided is a "bathroom sized" trash can doesn't work for me. I'm still looking for the perfect one, narrow enough to fit under the sink. But, the one I have now, actually a recycling bin, actually fits a decent amount before I HAVE to toss the trash. Which means it's the right size. :thumbsup2

I hate having to raise a lid to put in a Q-Tip, so my cans are lidless. But you do you.

I had to get a trash can with a lid when we got our puppy a couple of years ago. He just wouldn’t quit eating out of it. It didn’t matter what it was he was going to pull it out and make a mess. Ours has a motion sensor so it automatically opens. It freaks the dog out so he stays pretty far away now. So for us it’s an anti dog trash can.

We have small waste baskets in the bathrooms and laundry closet that are lined with all sorts of grocery bags. About 2-4 times a week I empty them. Could care less who sees the trash.

It's a trash can. Can't remember the last time I had a guest in my house that used a bathroom. So your concern would never have occurred to me
Seriously? We have people here a lot (especially our adult kids’ friends, could have 50 at a time, lots of bathroom use, especially when they’re pregaming), we have a similar can downstairs but a lidless one upstairs.

If you have a dog, you need to have covered trash cans!
Our dog rarely goes into bathrooms, if she does she just wants a tissue out of the can. I wish she was the same way about kitchen garbage, I did a lot of mopping yesterday.

LOL. Had our first guest of 2025 this morning. Lady across the street came over to tell us she is moving. But she didn't use the bathroom! But yes, it was different when our kids were living at home. I hang out with friends on average about once a week, but usually at a public place, like the shopping center parking lot for the weekly Cars and Coffee gathering on Sunday morning, or lunch out with former neighbors or with the civil group we belong to.

I was also going to say it's an anti-dog trash can. We have a similar one but the smaller round one. We made the mistake of a different kind of trashcan in the other bathroom.

If you ever go to the vet and they want to charge you $40 for a neck cone for your doggie, you can say, "Wait! I've got one!" :thumbsup2 😂
