Bathroom Remodel: Vanity or Pedestal sink?

We have what is sort of a mixture of the two...

It really takes up no more room than a pedestal, but we have someplace to put our toothbrush and toothpaste, butt wipes, etc., out of site! :rotfl: ;)

Everyone loves it!

Oh my gosh!! Your bathroom looks exactly like the one we are remodeling....EXACTLY!! Do you have 6-inch tiles on the floor?

I haven't seen that particular vanity...I like it a lot! Where did you get it?

And thanks to everyone for thier opinions on the pedestal. I was worried about not having the counter space just to put stuff down while using it. I think I'm going to re-think the pedestal idea.

Try getting ready in the morning by putting everything you need within 1" of the lip of your current sink-hair dryer, brushes, curling iron, flat iron, whatever. If you can do that and it doesn't bother you, a pedestal will be fine, if not, get a vanity.

Our tiles are a little more like 8'... but the sink is from Lowes. :goodvibes

And I agree with golfgal... it IS difficult in the AM. While I HAVE figured out a way for my curling iron, brush, hairspray to get along on our sink (curling iron in sink, brush next to soap, hairspray on edge or on floor...), it is still craziness.

I still like not having a clunky vanity, though.

We redid a bathroom with a pedestal sink a few years ago. It was the hall bathroom that my boys use. It lasted about 2 years. I wanted a vanity back.

We have a pedestal in our 1/2 bath. I have HATED it since we moved in to our house 16 years ago.

Of the numerous reasons why...I hate that I can see the plumbing. The base that the pedestal fits on isn't wide enough, so you see the plumbing. UGH. UGH. UGH.

Not to mention the storage space issues.

At some point in time, we will probably just replace it. I just simply do not use that bathroom, essentially I've put this bathroom on ignore. However, replacing the sink involves moving electrical because of where the original owners shoved an outlet. (obviously something we can do - it just is more of a project then.)
