Bathing suits in parks

OK, I haven't been to WDW since 1990 and this will be my kids' (5&7) first trip. Is it appropriate for kids to wear swimsuits since there are now so many different ways to get wet? (Don't worry, Hubby and I wouldn't dare don our suits in the parks!)

I would have them under their clothes or change them into it.

You never know how chilly the indoor rides can get.

I think it's probably best if they wear something over it (such as a sundress that's easy to slip off if they want to go play in the jumping fountains..) (um, unless they are boys. Unless they're boys that happen to enjoy sundresses...but I digress!) I'm guessing that WDW doesn't admit kids if they are wearing *just* a swimsuit.

My two boys wear swim shorts sometimes when we know they may get wet. They look like shorts, but are made out of a fast-drying material. Of course though, nothing dries fast in Florida! In Colorado, they can run in the fountains and 15 minutes later they are dry as a bone!

I also sometimes dress my boys for the parks in their swimsuits and tshirts with socks and sneakers and just bring shorts and undies in our backpack. That way they are set to play but don't have to be uncomfortable all day.

My girls, now 16 & 9, always wear a swimsuit under their regular clothes. The suits coordinate with their shorts and tops but they are much more comfortable if they get wet on the rides. They are usually two piece suits so they typically wear fast drying shorts and a tank tops over the suit. I won't allow them to wear the suit alone because we think it is inappropriate but I don't think I have seen anyone in the parks do it either.
We have however seen boys at DTD playing in the water fountains wearing nothing but their white brief underwear! DD was 6 at the time and was grossed out!
