Not sure where to post this question, we need a special "shopping" forum. :goodvibes During my family vacation in August, I stopped in a store called Basin's in DTD. It was a really cool bath shop. I purchased these things called bath bombs that I love and I thought they would make really good holiday gifts.

Does any one know if there are other basin stores around or is it only at DTD. I've been searching the web but when I search for "Basin" I get mainly fixtures as a result. Does anyone know if the store at Disney ships.

Aren't they GREAT? I'd never tried one before, but it was raining one night and we were in DTD, so I got one and used it that night in our whirlpool tub.....WOW!

The website sells all but the special Disney bombs that are in the DTD store. I went back got some for gifts while I was there!

Basin Stores ANYWHERE...they are in WDW at DTD, at Disneyland CA (in whatever it is they call their DTD area, it slips my mind right now) and at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN...the original store. I have been to all 3!!! And I do order from the web always with great results.

DH especially likes the coffee soap.

LOL I love that coffee soap too. Helps wake you up when at WDW. I suppose if you wanted the Disney soaps maybe you could order from the store at DTD. I don't know, I never tried but you probably could. I know I have receipts from there that would have the phone#. Just shout if you want the #. Anything from the regular website would be a wonderful gift though even if it's not Disney. :thumbsup2 At the DTD store we've always got a 10% discount with our annual pass. Didn't make it to the store this last trip though, bummer. :guilty:

I agree that we need a "shopping" forum and there have been a few Disney souvenir lists and picture threads which I have really enjoyed reading but then they slowly disappear.

When we came home from our last trip, well it was our second and we still haven't been into Basin! Hope to rectify that this trip because when I got home besides everything else that my heart was aching over missing, I was kicking myself about that  . Thanks for posting the link to the online store flyinglizard! Now I've had a look and kind of know what I'm interested in so I won't have to bore my DBF to much when we shop there...in 14 days :woohoo: woohoo  !

I didn't make it into the store the last time I was there, but I have been ordering from their website. Could you guys PLEASE tell me what the special Disney bath bombs are??? I am dying to know!!! Thanks!! :cool1:

Disneyland calls their DTD area Down Town Disney as well.

The Disney bath bombs are vanilla scented and when they dissolve they release Mickey head confetti into the water. They are really cute but I hate vanilla so I have never bought one for myself. Thay also have bar soap that has Mickey head cutouts in it.

Thanks Leash!! :goodvibes

The bath bombs I have tried from there are great. If anyone is thinking about ordering them, I definitely recommend them!

Try the Butter one it leaves your skin really soft.

DD loves the bath bombs.....they are her "treat" almost every time we go to DTD. I love that store.... the soaps, the shampoo that is in bar form, etc. I never used to be able to get her in the door past the "scents" - then she discovered the bath bombs! She likes the one with the suprise in the middle!

I almost sneeze just looking at the website though! This store is not for those with a sensitive nose. Neither my DSis or DMom can go in the store!

We were at the GF last week and I had virtually no time for shopping, so check this info to be sure. I think there was a Basin store just opening on the 2nd level, right near the monorail station. I am not familiar with the store as I am from Canada, but your references to bath bombs etc (sounds like what we find at "Lush") reminded me of the store I had seen.

Wish I'd realized about Disney bombs - our nanny would love one!

There is one at the Florida Mall and one at the Orlando airport. Worth the trip. We were there two weeks ago. They are "good for you" handmade products. Bath Bombs, Bath Butters, Bath Sudsy Crumbles, plus other body products.

If you think Basin's Butter Bomb is good, you should try theirs!!! I also stock up on Basin stuff too when I'm there even though I'm here by the Mall of America. I get the 10% off AP deal!!!

I love the Basin shop and my DD10 does as well. She loves making her own bath salts (and so do I!). It really is a fun shop and we make sure to visit it every trip.

I'm thrilled to hear there's a Lush shop at Orlando Airport. I've never seen it. Looks like I'll be spending money before I even get out of the airport on our next trip! :teeth:

So, are the bath bombs good for just one bath, or do they gradually dissolve over time?

$3.95 would make a pretty expensive bath.

Lush bombs are great, we are huge fans. We will have to try the Basin ones on our next trip!

We use one per bath, though we only buy a few when we're at DTD Basin. .

DW has loved the bath bombs for a long time and is always happy to receive them as a gift. I refer to them as "fizzies" cause that's what they do! And they smell good. She doesn't like the big ones with the non-dissolving surprises inside- a pain to clean out of the tub. Instead, she prefers the bags of the little mini-bombs (bath marbles) and uses only one or two per bath- yeah, $3.95 per bath is pricey!

Both DW and DD always like a slice or two of the "picture soap" (hand cut soap) in their Christmas stockings. If any men are reading this... you can score many "points" with gifts from Basin!
