Basic Trip Planning Question

Hi, my parents are considering a DVC membership of 200 points. So I know that if you book a trip of 185 points, you can rent the extra 15 points out. But what if you want to book a trip of 215 points and are unable to rent 15 points from someone else? Are there other options?

They can borrow the points from the next year, but it will leave them with 185 points for that year. Or, they can bank the extra 15 points, instead of renting them out, to use the following year.

You can also see if a fellow DVCer had an extra 15 points to transfer (or transfer them to someone who needs them if you had the extra points). Sometimes you'll find generous types who don't want the trouble of renting so few points and will graciously transfer them.
