Good Moring,
We've been to WDW several times, but have never really considered the DDP. We're a family of 3, (DH and DD 3 yo), it seems as though we never really have structured meals (except breakfast) and was wondering if anyone has a simple way of figuring out their meal budget or if this is a good plan? We belong to DVC and stay on property, we order food from Garden Grocer and take some add'l. We don't generally take food to the parks, and stay all day or park hop. Any recommendations or suggestions would be grealy appreciated. I'm just wondering if we're missing something by not participating?? Sorry for the long note. :)

If you like having a table service meal each day at a WDW restaurant, that's when the dining plan may be of use to you.

Check the menus at http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining.htm for prices. Remember that your three-year-old will be ordering from the childrens' menus.

If you cook in your villa, or if you prefer to eat counter service in the parks, it may not be worth it for you.

We were considering the DDP also but we saved reciepts from last trip we do alot of counter service and eat only a few table meals when i sat down and added up our meals then looked at the meal plan it didn't really help and sometimes even cost more
note;we stay in FW so we do usually eat breakfast in our rv if we eat out for breakfast its rare this could also make a big difference
If you eat all meals in parks then this meal plan idea is probably the way to go but if you stay in Fw or eat off property then it may not be good for you with us it wasn't worth it due to us not doing breakfast and mostly doing counter service plus the off site eatery's

Certainly have a TS meal makes the plan worth it for many, but if you have children between the ages of 3-9 it also helps. You pay just $9.99 per day to feed them. There isn't a character meal less than $11.99 so you get that at a discount and the also get a CS meal and snack that day for "free".

Other factors: DP makes your food costs "known". Convenience of simply eating, no consideration of cost when you choose; order what you want.

We had the DP and really enjoyed the entire process. I'm happy to have it again on our next trip.

I'd take a couple of minutes to take a look at some of the menu's and prices.
If you are interested in doing a couple of table service meals or character meals it might be a decent deal for you. If you typically eat counter services every ay then it might not...

Thank you for the information. I'll certainly take a look at the suggestions. I plan everything else, don't know why I've not really taken an interest in the DP! Guess i'm just to busy planning everything else! :rotfl:
Thanks again!
