Hello!

Please excuse me for asking such a basic question, but what exactly are the differences between a category 8 and a category 9 cabin? Both are listed as 'deluxe oceanview stateroom', and the pictures of the layout look the same to me.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Jon

I believe it just has to do with what deck they are on. The Cat 9's are on the lower deck 2 and 8's are higher up. Do you have a copy of the deck plans? You can view them online.

that's a little bit weird because there is a pretty significant price damage between the two. Is there something really undesireable about being in one locale vs. the other?

Can't answer if one is better than the other, but we stayed and will be staying in a cat 9 on deck 2 and it was nice. Close to elevators and easy access to all entertainment.

I believe that the idea is that it is more desirable to be on a higher deck, vs. in the "bowels" of the ship, therefore those are more expensive. HOWEVER, many people will tell you that being lower and midship is far better for those who experience motion sickness.

Before u get a room on deck 2 go to this site ..
www.dcltribute.com and look at Dave's list of Noisy rooms

u willl be fine on deck 2 if u would like to save the money
as there is a large difference in the price .. and that is a lot of Konk Koolers.... we had 2080 our last cruise...

If u r looking for a porthole room ...
