I keep going back and forth and back forth between the two. If we do the basic we are paying for 3 meals OOP and spending about $1400 for 7 CS, 10TS and 1 snack per day. But if we do the DxDP we are paying about $1980 for 17 TS (inc. appetizers), 3 CS, and 2 snacks per day. I cannot decide if it is worth the extra $$$$. :confused3

Would love to hear from anyone that has done the deluxe plan. Was it too much food? Did you feel like you were eating nonstop and were you controlled by ADRs? :headache: We did the basic last year and did not spend a ton OOP, but there are so many restaurants I would like to try and the basic only covers 7 of them!!!! :upsidedow My DH isn't much help and it would be nice to hear from anyone that has done both plans. Thanks!!!!

We just returned from a 5 night/6day stay. We did the DxDP and loved it! I just added up all the receipts and we saved $700! We ate 2 meals a day every day except the first. We ate @ signature resturants for dinner 3 nights and had lunch @ the CRT 1 afternoon. We only did 2 character breakfasts, and all lunches were at nice places. Our kids (5&8) really enjoy eating "big people" food, so we planned our meals around kids menus with choices other than chicken strips, hotdogs, and grilled cheese. Yes, there were times when we did not finish every bite, and we took desert to go once or twice, but we did not feel at all like we were eating constantly or had WAY too much.

Was it expensive? A little, but the savings were well worth it. If you plan on mostly character meals, I don't know. But if you want to experience the finest in dining Disney has to offer, you can't beat it!

We were planning on some character meals, but not too many. We wanted to go to HDDR again, because the kids loved it last time. I would love to go to the signature meals, but I do not want to have to go bak and get changed out of park attire to go to dinner.

My biggest concern is that I do not want to feel like I am leaving one meal, rushing to do rides, and running back to the next meal. Has anyone felt that way?

I used the Fast Pass ;) ;) ;) ;)

We're trying to make the same decision, so I'm interested in the responses too! I posted a similiar thread yesterday w/ some number-crunching, but, so far, I haven't gotten any responses. :confused3 My DH says I was way too convulated and rambled way too much, so no one wants to respond. That's me! Queen of Talking in Circles! :dance3:

Anyway, the way I figure, an upgrade to the Dx Dp will cost us about $330.00 - but actually less than that because we wouldn't have to bring as much breakfast/snack foods plus the added benefit of being able to schedule a couple more sit-down restaurants & not paying OOP for appetizers.

But, like you, I don't want 3 TS restaurants/day because I don't want to feel like we're running from 1 ADR to the next. Even w/ the Dx DP, we'd still be eating at counter-service restaurants - sometimes even twice a day! So, while I think we could, at the very least, break even w/ the Dx DP & maybe even come out a little ahead, I'm not sure we would be reaping any real "value" from the plan.

In other words, I still can't decide.

Edited to add - We'll have 8 TS credits w/ the basic plan, and I currently have 11 ADRs - paying OOP for CRT, WCC, and GF Cafe. As I see it right now, our total meal costs is $1108.64 (DP + OOP for CRT, WCC, GF Cafe + refillable mugs + appetizers). The Dx DP would cost us $1440.00.

we are doing the deluxe for 6 nights..........you just have to accept that if you want 3 sit down meals, your going to be going from meal to ride meal to ride meal to ride........some feel you must eat 3 TS or your money isnt well spent! We are doing to TS and a CS per day and don't forget those 2 snacks too, PER DAY. There are a lot of nice CS meals, i.e Earl of Sandwich..........

I have a couple CS meals figured in there too. And only 2 days w/ 3TS meals, and those are what I consider to be long days where we can eat rather late since we are having lunch. I figured up what the meals on the deluxe would cost OOP and we would be saving about $630. And the $1980 total also includes are tips. Last year we had some breakfast foods and extra snacks sent from Garden Grocer and I think that was about $150-$200. I am so torn.

We just got back from 10 nights on the Deluxe. It was very nice. We did later TS character breakfasts then a sit down TS dinner. Or early Lunch TS and sit down TS dinner. We did a few CS here and there and honestly, the wait time for CS was about the same time to get in and out of a TS. I didn't see any time saving in doing a CS and they are just frustrating standing in lines.

I would definitely do the deluxe again a shorter trip. We did not feel we were eating all the time at all.

I am in the same boat and trying to figure out what is best for my family...

I have 3 teens who eat non-stop...and we will be there for 8 days....

I have read and re-read so I appologize for sounding idiotic...but

On the deluxe plan...you get 3 TS/CS a day (your choice of how to use them) plus 2 snacks under $4...and it includes appetizer...

The Deluxe does not include Tip correct... just like the the regular one....

WE go in December and I am frazled looking at the money...we have a 2 bedroom at OKW so I know we have kitchen ammenities...
We do not eat out a lot..and I am trying to justify the money by saying that for families that have 3 teens...an average Olive Garden dinner will run you $60...and some people go out to eat at least once a week..so some families spend over $3200 a year minimum...we do not...so how bad is the DDP???

UGH!!!

What is the cost difference between the DDP and the deluxe DDP? I know it ist $37.99 per day for the DDP, but I can't seem to find the deluxe pricing anywhere. Can anyone tell me the cost per day?
