We have a great crawlspace under our house that will eventually be finished into rooms. Has anyone else done this for their basements?

I got 2 quotes. One for $3800 and one for $9500 :scared1: .
The very large quote was a professional type with a slide presentation and a "ventilation system" that accounted for 50% of that quote. Anyone used B Dry (the very $$ estimate)? Is the ventilation something others have gotten? It seems like a great idea, but so costly! We usually do not cheap out on home things, but this is almost 3 times the cost of the other one.

Obviusly we will do lots of research of our own on this, but just wondered if any Disser's have any experience with this.

Whenever I hear or read about water and basements, I hear that it is more about water management than waterproofing. The best way to keep your basement from leaking is getting the water away from your foundation. Consider the grade of your yard and also consider a sump pump system to pump water away from your foundation.

I am assuming that the waterproofing is really putting in drain tiling and a sump pump. Is the ventilation system a radon abatement system? I know those run in the $2500-3000 range so that does add quite a bit to the price. Can you get a 3rd or 4th bid to see what is more reasonable? I would also ask for a list of their past 10 customers and call ALL of them. Sometimes these companies are fly by night things and aren't going to be around to back up any work.
