Based on these recent wait times... what do you expect in May?

We have gone the last week of April every year since 1996, and from what I am hearing, attendance is going to be much higher this year in that time frame, and continuing right on into June. I don't think it has anything to do with Spring Break crowds--we have spring break every year.

I believe it is a result to the HEAVY advertising campaign that Disney has put on for the 50 Year Celebration.

As far as wait times, I think that if you are informed and do your homework, you can always keep wait time to a minimum. But those folks that meander in to the parks at 11 in the morning are going to see some serious lines this year.

The wait times don't look bad to me for April 8th. I think it said they were taken at 3:20. That is during the parade, but it is also in the middle of the day when the crowds are high.

I just don't see how the month of May could be this busy when the majority of kids are still in school at this time. I realize that a few school systems get out towards the middle of May, but for the most part, aren't most children in school until late May? Are parents going to take their children away from final exams, etc. just to go to the 50th celebration? It just seems a little extreme.

I completely agree with this. May looks to be quite busy. WDW resorts look pretty booked up in mid-May. We decided to take our young kids out of school because we thought it would a slower time. Now I see it probably will be busy but we don't want to reschedule since we're getting excited!! :flower:

May has gotten worst the last few years.

If it is too crowded for you - just try another park.

I am expecting it to be crowded - but not overly so.

like a busy spring break - but certainly not like palm or easter weeks.

lots of people (me included) don't have kids and still go to WDW.

yes when the kids are out of school - WDW is generally more crowded - but some schools are out the middle of May.

May has several things against it - the Celebration, the Flower/Garden Festavial, Star wars weekends....that is enough to make it very crowded.

And I plan accordingly. ;) I am arriving on a Sat. and will do NO parks that day, as I am going to be there 2 days AFTER the BIG Celebration, so yes, I am expecting crowds. I am staying till Wed. and plan on doing the Parks Sun-Wed. Good Luck to all! :goodvibes
