We enjoy going to wide world of sports and watching the local team (Orlando Rays) usually get thrashed but its still a good evening out and a change from everything else in the area.

I've heard that the Rays have ben disbanded and there is no longer a team playing at WWoS.

Anybody know if this is true? Is so where is the nearest local team playing?

Thanks
Stuart

Last year was there last season playing games at the WWoS (I went to a game in August and really enjoyed it :) ).

I believe they have moved elsewhere to another State :(

The closest MLB team now is the Tampa Bay Devil Rays; but there are a number of Minor League Teams in Florida. The closest to Orlando are the Lakeland Tigers:

You can also chack out other local teams from this site:

There may be smaller college type teams that play locally too - may be worth asking on the US boards :)

We saw the Clearwater Phillies play the Dunedin Blue Jays last August in Clearwater-they were just about to move to a brand new stadium nearby. Also saw the Orlando Devil Rays at WWoS-shame if they've folded, although they did get soundly beaten!
Sit near the ends of the seating areas and you may catch a baseball-if balls are hit into the crowd, you get to keep them if you get there first.
