Baseball and Magic! Mar 2014 PTR, Um- make that TWO trips please!

Okay! Here it is… 2 hours later, I got my selections for my first MK day! :crazy2:

I wanted to get Dumbo and BTMR at the same time, but that was the best I could do. Corey isn't interested in riding that, so I figured he could go take Catie to Dumbo while Cortlyn and I go ride that.

HOWEVER… I decided to measure the girls today and guess what?? Cortlyn is 46.5 inches and Catie is dun dun DUUUUN!!!! 39 inches! My baby girl could be tall enough to ride BTMR by March! That is both :goodvibes and !

Okay! I've finished our FP+'s for March! :cheer2: I'm so glad to be done with this, because it was quite a headache. Not difficult per se, but you know how reliable Disney technology is… :badpc: LOL

Here is my 2 cents of things to make it go a little smoother.
  • The iPhone/iPad app really does work better than a computer. Annoying, but it works better.
  • If you have to use the computer and you see Donald Duck have a panic attack (You'll know what I mean when you see it!) then just close the window and reopen or scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click "Fastpass." Chances are your information was actually saved!
  • Give it a day or two after your window opens up.
  • Make generic choices first- It will give you all these preset options, but you can change the times easier (IMO) than selecting them from the beginning.

So what did I pick?

Now, these are subject to change… and likely will, but for now, this is the plan! lol See… things could REALLY change because I just happened to measure Catie this week and GUESS WHAT?!?!?!!? She is 39 inches tall!! :goodvibes So, IF she can pull that other inch out before March, we could let HER ride some of the bigger rides! Here is a list of rides that she COULD ride:

Park Attraction Height Requirement

MK The Barnstormer 35"
MK Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 40"
MK Stitch's Great Escape 40"

AK Dinosaur 40"

EP Soarin' 40"
EP Test Track 40"

HS Star Tours - The Adventures Continue 40"
HS The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 40"

Oh and I have spoiled the surprise with Corey… He knows that Shelley and Brian are joining us in March. He was on the computer and closed a tab on the internet and my gmail popped up and there was an email between Shelley and I about it! Oh well!

Hey Christen, I followed you over here from the March thread. So glad you got your FP+ sorted. We did ours yesterday and all went without a hitch.

Our dates overlap a little and we will be in MK the same day as you (the 13th) so I will look out for you :thumbsup2

Not long to go now :cool1:

Wow! You are lucky that you get to do the Fastpass+ already. Have you gotten your Magicbands yet? I'm still waiting on ours.

Thanks for following me over here! :wave2:

We will have to look out for each other that day!! I'll be the one with the two most adorable kids in the park that day! :rotfl: I love a Dismeet.

I'm jealous that your FP's where done without a hitch. Donald must have liked your computer! :thumbsup2 I will say, using my iPhone was much easier, but I hated the little screen. But it's all done… for now! We'll see how I move it around as we get closer and if Catie pulls that inch out for us!!!

I think they send the MB's around 45 days out?? So, I should get those soon! I'd bet they send them when they get the final payment for the trip. I'm glad to have my FP's out of the way. I'm hoping that they will open the FP for lunch at BOG soon- I'd LOVE to get a lunch there on Sunday!! pixiedust:

Our room is already paid for since we are DVC members and we are passholders so, I can't do anything until I get our bands to link our passes. I'm anxiously waiting. I started a Pre-trip report after riding yours and a few others. I'm going to write my first trip report as well. :cool1: I'm finally taking the plunge.

Oh well, then that makes sense! I wish we could be AP holders! How much fun to be able to go often!!! :yay: We've considered buying into DVC… we'll see if it happens, but it's on our list of "wants" for the future! lol

Hi Christen - getting caught up and I see that you have pretty much finalized your plans! Oops that Corey saw your surprise. :)

Going back to your plans:
Glad TH worked out for you! I know you love that place.
As for Teppan Edo later dinner, I think the girls will be entertained by the cooking "show" and should do ok. I like the fact that they really do a great job making kids feel welcome there.

Wow! Catie is nearly at that mile stone height! She may just be there in another 2 months. I didn't realize that Stitch's Great Escape had a height limit but that makes sense.

That link to the thread about the FP+ tiering and strategy is beyond helpful. I've not taken that much time to assess the time savings. I just see what fits into my park touring and dining plans. Little did I know there's more of a strategy to this stuff.

Enjoy the weekend!

I thought that link was amazing. I'm not using all their advise- with kids, it's less about time saving and more about protecting naptime! LOL But it IS really helpful! I knew that others would appreciate it. What a lot of time someone put into that, huh?

I hope she makes it!!! I won't put her in thick shoes- I know those height requirements are there for a reason and I wouldn't ever want to put my kid at risk, but it will be such a bummer if she doesn't hit it! :worship: You know how to focus your prayers! lol

I have started school and I'm EXHAUSED!!!! OMG, I had no idea how much work and how quickly we'd be busting our booties! LOL I am enjoying it, but I'm so wiped out at the end of the day and then my kids/dinner/baths/homework. I can't wait to update and get some more planning out to you guys!!! You won't believe what I booked this week! :hippie: You won't guess… but you can try. One hint. It WON'T take place in March. :cool2:

Can I guess??? Oh, oh - pick me, pick me!!! :yay: :rotfl:

I bet you are exhausted! Brian is feeling it too and it's only been a week! March will be a really nice break for both of you. Brian even said this morning that he can't wait until our May trip because he's going to "live it up" Ya'll will get through it! I can't imagine doing what you're doing with kids though. Makes me tired just thinking about it.

I think I know tooo!!!!! :thumbsup2

So, today has been crazy!

Started the day back at the dance studio. Catie is in a "mommy and me" class that is fun but totally tiring for us. Cortlyn had her normal Ballet class, but then they also had a special jazz and tap class. I think it was to see how much interest they could get for those two classes in her age group. I hope they add it- because I'm really tempted to go to another studio in the next town over that offers more options for classes. I like the location and times of our current studio, but they aren't as good about the little kid classes and it really bothers me. Cortlyn doesn't even get a real recital. :( I hate to be putting a lot of money into something when I don't feel like they are giving back as much, you know?

We're full swing into Basketball season around here! popcorn:: Luckily, my husband is pretty popular and we get to have free food at the saturday games. Buffalo Wild Wings- YES please! :thumbsup2 We were there for the Men's game and part of the women's game. The girls had a blast dancing and cheering with the spirit squads!

But I am guessing you probably want to know what my surprise is… unless you looked at my siggy and noticed that I have a NEW ticker on there…. Yup! I'm going to Disney and staying at THE GRAND FLORIDIAN IN JULY!!! Corey and I are going- just the two of us! I can't wait! I'm seriously beside myself excited about it! And the best part is that Shelley and her husband are going at the same time! So we can have some adult only time with our best friends! :yay: The only reason I'm doing this is because we are going as a family in March, so I don't feel as guilty about leaving the girls behind for Disney. Corey and I have both said that we regret not going to Disney before we had kids, because we feel like we missed out on things that we could do together. So, on this trip we are staying for just a few short days and do some adult things! Like eat dinner at the California Grill and maybe see the Cirque show? We may or may not even do any parks… We'll have to see. I'd like the idea of skipping the parks all together, but then I think- I can't NOT go to a park!?!?!?! We'll see! It's literally for just two nights- Friday and Saturday and come home on Sunday. We have to figure out childcare for the weekend- any takers? :rotfl: I'm so excited!!! TWO trips in one year?!? I can't believe it! I'm so excited!!!!

That's awesome for an Adult only trip. I noticed it in your signature and was going to say that but wasn't sure if that was planned or not. I was thinking it might have been something to do with dining for that trip. I'm super excited for your additional trip.

That stinks about not getting a recital. I wouldn't like that. Our studio has them perform even though its only one or two songs. Then, they get picked up backstage and can come out to watch the rest of the recital. Have you mentioned it to the owner that you would like them to be in the recital?

I am SOOOO excited!!! We've only had a couple of overnight with no kids since Cortlyn was born. It will be tough!

Well, they get a small recital, but it's not a real recital with the bigger dancers and that's what bothers me. No pretty costumes and no real performance day experience- which we've been a part of a much bigger studio with a two day recital!! They basically have class on stage and they get a cheap little skirt to wear over their black leotards. I've TRIED to talk to them, but they seem really set in their ways. I'll likely sent Cort to the other studio next year, even if it will be tougher on us!

Yay for an adults only trip!!! You girls are too adorable cheering. Love those pictures. I would be upset also about not really having a dance recital. Even my two year old has a dance costume and is in the recital for her dance class. How can you not have costumes for them.

Getting caught up again and saw the surprise! I'm so excited that ya'll are going to get an adults only trip to Disney and staying at the Grand Floridian to boot! :cool1:
