LOL! I was just about to post out to you "Hey Gregg, isn't time for the baseball thread yet?!!!":cool1:

Is that your son? If so, he's gotten big since you first started the baseball thread! I can't tell from the uniform - is he still in high school?

Yep that's my youngest. He is a Junior this year, first year on Varsity, those are from Saturday, 3 innings, no runs, only one more than the minumum and he actually came in with the bases loaded and no outs.

And yes, he has gotten big, a little taller than I am, something he loves to tell me about.

Sweet. I knew you'd be starting this thread soon. We still have another month and a half before our little league season starts (Its SNOWING today!!! AAAAAGGGGHHHHHH).

I'll be joining in on the baseball fun soon enough. Till then I'll enjoy everyone else's.

I am happy to have found this board! For Christmas I received a Canon Rebel and look forward to using it this spring/summer at my son's baseball games (he will be on the 8th grade school team, a Babe Ruth team, and a travel team). I look forward to posting some pictures once his games get started (that is whenever all of the snow melts here in upstate NY) and ask for ways to improve my photos.

you'll have great fun shooting baseball with your rebel, Duke!

Alas, it is freezing and pouring here...I'm sure our opening tournament will be cancelled tomorrow.:sad2: Would you believe it was 80 degrees and sunny last weekend?!!! arrggh!:headache:

It's been 7 months since I've seen my son pitch a game, he was out all last season rehabbing his elbow. We caught it early, he's worked hard, and is all ready for the season!:thumbsup2

80 degrees and sunny huh.... won't be seeing that weather until June! After a long basketball season - I am really ready for baseball to get here.

That is great about your son being ready to pitch this season. Our son had slight pain in his elbow at the end of all-stars in July and spent fall season not pitching at all and also was doing a lot of pt and strength exercises throughout the winter.

Fingers crossed that your tournament might be a go tomorrow!

Kim

Yeah, he pitched the first game of the fall (August) season, did great but in the car said his arm hurt; we had him to the doc the next day (he'd never complained b4). We were always careful with his pitch count (including for the week), icing his arm, etc., but alas... It came down to his mechanics, he was putting a strain on the elbow. He did physical therapy all fall, been back to pitching practice this winter. Looks great, but I'm anxious to see him back in the game!

As I predicted, our weekend was a washout - whine whine whine...this is starting out like my posts on LAST year's baseball thread!:lmao:

So c'mon y'all that got a game in this weekend - t ball, HS, spring training - whatever!!! Post those pics!:woohoo:

I have some from Thursday and Friday that I can post once I get them processed, but other things got in the way this weekend. Let's just say that being a landlord sucks....

My kids aren't playing ball this year, but I happened upon this field which was across the street from the gym where they have their wrestling practice. The light was great and they were running late, so I had time to play a little bit.

I loved this thread last year, and with baseball starting in california, spring must be close here in new england too. Our opening day little league isn't til may 2.

Our season starts next week but I coached T-Ball last year and happened to find this picture. I love the little kids.

I also have this one of my DGD, you have to look good in the field.

Finally have a few to contribute to start the season.

MLB Network was showing a Tigers/Yankee's game from 1976 (Mark Fidrych game). I only bring it up because unlike today, the photographers were pratically on the field taking the in game photos. I photog was about 1 foot behind the 1st base coaches box. 3 others were a little further back and more towards right field. Now no one is on the field, they have those photography dug outs.

Just thought I'd share a little baseball/photography thing not involving an actual picture.

Our season starts in 2 weeks.

This poor kid was safe at the plate - but got a face full of catcher's knee!:scared1:
