I, too, have been a fan since the early 70's when he toured with Bette Midler. I've seen him in concert several times and he puts on a great show. DH even admitted he enjoyed it.

i used to swear when i was a little girl that i was gonna marry barry manilow someday!

i don't listen to him much anymore...don't have any cd's. isn't that shameful? lol

besides...i'm much to obsessed with clay aiken at the moment to divert my attention to anyone else...

Me too! I am also a closet Carpenters fan. Karen had the clearest, most beautiful voice. So sad.

I love Barry Manilow to (or Mamilow as my DS has always called him!). We actually just finished watching a Manilow greatest hits video that I got with a 4 CD boxed set that I bought a number of years ago. It is awesome. I would love to see him in concert some time as he gives great concerts. I also love The Carpenters too. And, Donny Osmond too!!!! Love all that mellow fun music!

I just LOOOVVEEE Barry. Have seen him a few times at Radio City, Foxwoods. He was doing a show at supper club the prices where pretty high. DH got them for me for my b'day but Barry ended up cancelling due to broncitis or something like that. Reallly wanted to see him again but am busy.

I have tickets to see him at the Palace on Oct 23rd!! I'm so excited!

I'll be at that show too!!!!! Fortunately we got GREAT seats!!! Got lower bowl about 5 rows up.....

My girlfriend (Pita's mom) and I go every time he comes to town!! He puts on the best show!!!

I don't know HOW I missed this thread last week!

I am probably the DIS's most ardent Manilow fan.

I've been to see him twice in concert in the past week - the Garden absolutely ROCKED!!!! The audience was off the hook excited, and he kept stopping just to look at everyone - I can't remember ever seeing him so overwhelmed, and I've seen him PLENTY of times! LOL

He was wearing a lime green shirt during the second half of the show - I poked my friend Donna (FergieTCat) and told her "Look - Barry's a DIS member!!"

I've also been to some TV tapings this week - so I've been a busy Manilow fan (HATE the term "Fanilow" BLEH!).

I actually got to DANCE with Barry during one of the TV tapings, but I think that particular song won't air until sometime in December, since it was a holiday song. Talk about exciting...ahhhhhh...

Going to see him in Philly tonight - it's my last show - for now, anyway....

Oh My Goodness Cookie, you win the prize as the biggest Barry fan....

But that said, he was my very first concert. Back in '77 as a teen, I was so amored with him. Rode in my first limo and had front row seats (the concert was in LA). It was very, very awesome. Have not seen him since My own fault. Anyway, I think I will check to see if any good seats are left here in LA or OC. I still love each and every one of his hits. I agree that Weekend in New England is the best, it brings a tear to my eye every time.
