No, I didn't but I had to respond and say that I LOVE Barry Manilow!!!

My very first concert experience in a stadium setting was Barry Manilow. A family friend took me because her boyfriend dumped her. It was Valentine's Day, 1983 (?), I was 10 or 11. As much as I love him now, that concert did NOT make me very cool among my friends. ;)

It was a fabulous concert! He is so sweet and such a great performer! Three generations of us went. My Mom, myself, and my DD(spoiled). princess: DD is almost 4 years old and loves him :lovestruc !She was like the only kid there!
The guy is just a great guy! I hate when they pick on him!

I know he just had hip surgery and I am glad to hear he is back to performing!

One of these days I am getting to Vegas to see him.:thumbsup2

I just posted a thread about it! I thought he was great!

I only saw one little girl there. It was probably your daughter :thumbsup2

I bought the advance copy of the CD they were selling there for $10. It is excellent, and MUCH cheaper than they are selling it on QVC.

My DD had on a princess tinker bell green dress with a white sweater. We were lucky enough to be 5th row kindof center. We couldn't believe they had that CD right there for 10 bucks! My Mom got it! I should have gotten it too but we were stunned and leaving the show!

I was there! It was the best concert I have ever been too! We were on the main floor 20 rows back.

Where you guys in green shirts throwing the beach balls? I brought the cd. It is an awesome cd. I was singing all the way to work today! I went to lunch with a co-worker and turned on the car and it was blasting. He now thinks I am crazy!

No green shirts here but I saw those ladies. I was so jealous of that lady who got to dance with him. I just find him so adorable!

His intro was very funny with the whole wheel chair stint!

There was a clip of his act on "The Insider" It was from the Atlanta show but the same thing.

CookieGVB and I saw him last week in Atlantic City. We got excellent seats at the last minute and had a blast!!

He was on QVC for an hour on Saturday. Made my sick day a little better.

Aw, I've seen him 5 times & yea, he's just a fantastic entertainer. I've been a fan since 8 years old (that's 28 years, thank you very much!) I mean, I've been a true fan, however...

I'm sad that my fandome has been wavering. I chose not to see him in AC because the ticket prices have gone through the roof for him. Kind of peeves me off. And I'm not one of the Barry-Can-Do-No-Wrong kind of fans. I'm not thrilled with the kind of music he's been making (or re-making as it were.) "Here At The Mayflower" was just so good and I miss him creating new music like that.

I look forward to seeing him live again, although. I really believe that it's the performing that has been Barry's true strength throughout the years. He's a wonderful singer, songwriter, producer etc. etc. BUT - and I wonder if he knows this - he's truly magical on that stage.

I was there too. DH and I went (he went there kicking and screaming BTW) Last minute we went over to the box office to see about upgrading our tix..... , we picked up some AWESOME seats we were about 30 feet from the stage. I'm sad to say that I didn't convert DH into a Fanilow....he couldn't stop laughing at me and what a dork I am. He went to the Who concert last week and he couldn't get over the difference in the crowds. The show was great (as expected) HOWEVER, I must say that I'm a bit disapointed in the in the new CD. Not enough orchestra for my taste. I bought my dad a CD too and he had the same thoughts as I did. What I really love about Barry is his arrangements to all his songs. And the 60's CD just didn't have it. But I still love em.

It is true. He is a great performer!!!! And it always amazes me that there is absolutely NO press on his personal life.

My friend and I were just talking about that. We don't know much about him. I don't know how he got away with that all these years.

At the concert the other night, this was the main topic of conversation among all the women in line for the bathroom! :rotfl:

There are very few perfomers at his level of stardom who have managed to stay completely out of the press. It really is extraordinary when you think about it.
