Barry Manilow

I couldn't help but notice how skinny he was too. Did you ever see him on the Martha Stewert show where he talked about how he does'nt really eat.

At the concert the other night, this was the main topic of conversation among all the women in line for the bathroom! :rotfl:

There are very few perfomers at his level of stardom who have managed to stay completely out of the press. It really is extraordinary when you think about it.

DH and I were saying the exact same thing (but not in line for the woman's restroom:rotfl: )

He must be a stand up kinda guy if NO ONE ever had a bad word to say about him. What ever his preferences are, you would think there would be a jilted lover out there with something bad to say. I think it goes to Barry's character that he really is a good guy.

I agree. He is so sweet and he really doesn't have a negative thing to say about anything and people pick on him ALL the time!! I still can't believe he was able to do the show he did only 7 weeks after surgery! He is really a strong person.

Ok, speaking of ladies room lines at Barry concerts, I have to share this: TWICE the line got so long that they moved some of us to the mens room since it was not being used at all!

I'm perplexed as to why CookieGVB hasn't checked in!! When i think of Barry on the DIS, that's who my mind goes to. :) I was 100% willing to splurge and buy Barry tickets when we were in Vegas and what happens??? Hip surgery. No Barry during my trip. :( I'm still sad.

:rotfl: :lmao: That's awesome.

Listen to this..... I saw a fight at the Ladies Room!!! You know how there are two sides at Allstate well when people went to use the other side women started yelling at them!! "You're cutting, you're cutting!!! You're so....rude!!! What do you think we are all standing here for!:furious:" It was hilarious. It was at least entertaining while I had to wait with my daughter! :rotfl2:

I now heard he broke some QVC record!
I did see him on QVC last Saturday and ordered the CD there for $19.96 plus shipping. But when I saw it at the concert for $10 I cancelled the QVC order. The only difference is that the QVC CD came with another small bonus CD with a few more songs. I decided it wasn't worth it because it came to something like $25 with shipping and tax.

I'm still kicking myself I didn't get that CD at the concert (my Mom did). What a dummy!

Why don't you borrow your mom's CD and burn yourself a copy?

I know...I have to learn how to do that plus download from the internet along with some other modern things like that. I am only 39 but I feel much older when I realize what I don't know how to really do yet!

Let's help Debbie get herself a copy of that CD! I'm going to give you CD-burning instructions here. And anyone else can correct me if I miss a step. I do this so often that it's second nature:

First, this is for use with Windows Media Player. If you don't have that, maybe someone else can help.

1 - Pop the CD into the drive and it will probably start playing. Make sure it's playing with Windows Media Player.

2 - If it plays using a different application, close it and stop it. Open Media Player separately. Right mouse click in the toolbar area, select "file" and "open" then select your CD drive containing your BARRY CD. It will play.

3 - Click the "rip" tab. This process copies the CD to your computer. As long as you are connected to the internet, it will list all the songs, artist, etc. This is important because you'll have to find them later.

4 - Simply click the icon that says "rip music"

5 - Now you have the music and you're done with the original CD. Give it back to your mom. To burn it to your own CD, you click the "library" tab. Select "album/artist" from the left-hand scrollbar. Find Barry's CD. Right-click on it and select "add to burn list."

6 - Click on the "burn" tab at the top. All the songs will be listed. Insert a blank CD into your burner and click "start burn." Let it go - the drive should pop open when it's all done.

Media Player makes it very easy. You're basically pulling the files off the CD, saving them, and burning them to a different CD. Enjoy!

That was very nice of you to give her the instructions. I'm going to print them out my self, because I too am CLUELESS! thanks

Wow - how'd I miss this thread?? Everyone who knows me here, knows I love Barry. :)

ckay, I totally agree with you about HATM - I only wish he'd make Clive enough money with the cover albums for him to allow him to do one like that again. Or maybe just release it through the fan club...*sigh*

We run an online fan club, if anyone's interested. We're the ones always bugging everyone about the Pet Calendars!! :teeth:

I killed the Manilow thread! *sob*

No nasty comments, now! ;)
