Barnstormer Age Requirement?

Today I ran across a website that says there are age requirements for certain rides... including Barnstormer. It said that children must be 3 years old to ride it. When we went in 2012 our 2.5-year-old rode it and loved it. Is this age requirement a new rule? Is it enforced? Or maybe the website that I looked at is just inaccurate?

There is no true age requirement as in a minimum age to ride. As long as they meet the height requirement then they can ride. There is however a rule that anyone under 7 years old must be seated with someone 14 years old or older. On Barnstormer there are only two seats per car so that can be tricky for a single adult with more than one child under 7. This rule applies to all rides.

They enforce the rule that under 7 must ride with someone over 14 though. My 13 yo (who looks much younger) wanted to ride Dumbo with my 2yo and they wouldn’t allow it.

Yes. They do enforce that. They do not enforce any rule stating a minimum age just to ride though, if there even are such. They very strictly enforce the height requirements and the under 7 rules.

On some rides there is debate about what constitutes riding "with" someone and whether that means "same row" or "same car" (an endless debate around here). This seems to be inconsistent depending on the ride.

There are A LOT (even Disney's own) that are inaccurate. No Disney ride has an age requirement to ride period. So if you ever see a place that says otherwise, it's wrong.
Honestly, even if Disney's site is sometimes off, it's at least close. There are only a few areas where it's got issues. Ride swap is one that is off a bit.
And don't waste your time with the Mom's Panel. Whew, they get lots wrong, sadly.
