Here's another vote for the citronella collar. I adopted a small terrier who likes to bark. I took a chance and spent the $119 for the collar, and it stopped her barking immediately. It doesn't make a mess; it's easy to refill and doesn't harm the dog.
The only drawback I have found to the collar is the battery it uses is kind of expensive. And I have read a few cases where the collar doesn't work, the dog just turns it's head to bark. It's worth a try, and Petco told me I could bring it back for a refund if it didn't work for me.
