Not too sure if this belongs on the Budget Board or here, but I frequent here more, so I figured this is where I'd post this :goodvibes
I went into the Dollar Tree near us on a whim the other day. Normally I avoid dollar stores, because I've found them to be shoddy AND not everything is a dollar. HOWEVER, the Dollar Tree is beautifully kept and everything is at most a dollar!
I found so many things to use as stocking stuffers, and thought you guys might like some of their things, too!
64 crayon pack
NUMEROUS disney puzzles, dolls, activity books, stamp sets, math flip cards
8 pack of "magic dough"
Snow globes
"Movie theater" boxes of candy
Word search/sudoku books
Really nice looking (and smelling!) hand sanitizer, lotion, perfumes (those "smells like burberry, vera wang, etc." most of them really were comprable to their "real" fragrance! A great way to test out a fragrance if you don't want to drop $80 on a bottle you might end up regretting!)
There's just too much to name! Their giftwrap section was fabulous, too-- as well as decorating supplies. A string of 50 lights for $1!
So my advice is-- go to the Dollar Tree!! I am filling DBF's younger brother's stocking with tons of things for only $7! Definitely the best dollar store I've ever been in!

I love the Dollar Tree:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Place like Dollar General and Family Dollar are kinda of misleading

:thumbsup2I go to the Dollar Tree to get my holiday gift bags, tissue wrap, and i buy my little sister little gifts for her stocking as well.
I like the Dollar Tree better than the Dollar Store..the Dollar Tree is a lot more organized and everything is a dollar!
I also buy holiday socks for myself there every once in awhile...last time i was there i bought buzz lightgear socks! lol. They are not the best socks in the world ..but they suit my purpose.

Theres stuff at your dollar store thats MORE than dollar? How? Its a DOLLAR STORE!!
Yup! There are plenty of places that falsely advertise themselves as a dollar store-- things are really more in the $3-5. It's terrible!

Family Dollar was exactly the store I was thinking of when I mentioned "fake dollar stores." There's one near my house that's terribly overpriced. It's also FILTHY. All of the merchandise is dusty and terribly cheaply made.

They have much nicer gift bags, etc than at the Christmas Tree Shop! I got a two pack of medium gift bags for a dollar. Gift bags are SO expensive, usually. Fifty cents a bag is awesome!
I didn't look for holiday socks! My friend got a two pack of reindeer antlers for a holiday party, though:lmao:

Thanks! I've always bought the nice thick Word Search and Suduko puzzle books there for the family members who enjoy them.. Why pay more than a buck when you don't have to, right?

Roll them up and they're a great stocking stuffer! :santa:

:lmao: I just did some stocking shopping at our dollar tree last week. Ours has alot of Disney stuff too. I got disney xmas wrapping paper for dd2's presents. Love the dollar tree, one of the few dollar stores with great stuff and not junk. I used to buy preggie tests there when we were ttc. Cheap and works great! Just a tip for ttc girls.;)

I also like the Just A Buck dollar stores. Also very organized, clean with good quality stuff.

And everything is a dollar.Or 2 for a dollar (even better!).

I love Dollar Tree stores, dislike Dollar General (might have gone there twice) and have only been in Family Dollar once.

I picked up a few stocking stuffers today and I'm debating on going back to make a grocery basket. One thing I'm weird about is unknown brands of food that I don't recognize.

We have a "dollar store" (not Dollar Tree or Family Dollar, cant' remember the name) where everything is like $1.47. ????)

Isn't that weird how they call it a dollar store?:confused3 Yeah the Dollar General and Family Dollar too, don't get why they portray themselves as dollar stores lol.

I have had some good luck with Dollar tree groceries, mainly spices, pickles, olives, jams, dressings, and jars of sundried tomatoes. They were all tasty. My favorite thing they have is a big jar of cinnamon sugar, we use it all the time on toast.

I love the Dollar Tree, but some are better than others, and they don't all carry the same things. I'm a bit leery of dollar store foods in general, but for everything else, it's great. I also love this store near me called "Amazing Savings". They sell everything you could ever want at incredible prices.

I haven't bought food there, but I wouldn't be against it. Ours even has fresh bread! I saw an older lady stacking about 50 into her cart, haha :lmao:

I have purchased the Herr's potato chip and some other snacks. I don't know that I'd pick anything out of the freezer and I just weird about canned goods that are unknown. I'm sure they are all fine or they wouldn't be able to sell them. When Dollar Tree first opened I refused to buy candy bars there, figuring they were expired. At some point a sign was posted that the foods are fresh. I might just do the grocery basket there, or at least some of it.

There use to be a commercial where the guy in the dollar store kept asking for a price check and the cashier kept saying a dollar. :happytv:

Before we moved, there use to be 4 "dollar" stores near my house and only 1 (the Dollar Tree) actually had everything for a dollar.
