Bareminerals foundation...

I've been interested in trying the Bye Bye Foundation, but it looks like it would be heavy. When I watch the commercial it looks good and then they start to wipe it off and I wonder how heavy it must be.

I personally didn't like it. I was excited when a Bare Minerals store opened in my mall. I went in and had them put it on me and it looked great so I bought it. I have enlarged pores and oily skin and it just didn't last on me. After a few hours it looked like I had no makeup on at all and I'm not one who likes to keep reapplying as the day goes on. Maybe see if you can find a store and have them apply it and see if you like it and if it lasts.

Bismuth...that's it. That is the ingredient that people react to. Some powder foundation brands have it and some don't.

Most of the IT cosmetics foundations are full coverage. Even the CC cream is closer to a full coverage foundation IMO.

The bye bye foundation also pulls very yellow. Even in the commercial (which is generally better than real life) you can see it's not a good match on the spokesperson, she looks orange/jaundiced! So if you have neutral or cool undertones you're going to have a tough time finding a match.

It may be worth trying a few more color options (or mixing if you'd buy 2). It still may not work but it could have been an undertone problem, not a color problem. (If you really like that foundation it may be worth a shot).

I wish all companies would put an indicator for undertones. Really I just wish everything came in every undertone lol. But at least let us know which is which!

I had someone at Sephora help me pick a color. None of the ones she tried from clinique worked. I appreciate the tip about mixing, but I'm not enthusiastic enough to take the time, lol. I slap some makeup on quick before leaving the house to look presentable. For years I didn't wear any at all, but now as I get older I need a little help. ;)

That's what I had read, so I figured Bismuth was the cause of my itching with Bare Minerals. But, I can use Clinique powder with no issues and it has bismuth in it as well.

Bismuth in cosmetics... check your other cosmetics/cleansers/astringents for hydrogen peroxide... when the two combine it sets off a chemical reaction. Which could be the burning on the skin some are complaining of.

(Bismuth is also the active ingredient in Pepto Bismol, among other digestive/IBS OTC meds)
