Barclay's Black Card

DH and I got "invitations" for a Barclay's Black Visa card today. We looked at each other and both said "uhm, aren't Black cards from Amex and don't you have to spend like $250K a year to even be considered?" The annual fee was $495 a year and we couldn't see anything about it that made it worth having! DH put the applications through the shredder. . .I checked it out online, and yes, it's a legit card, but yes, Barclay's is preying upon the mythos of the "black" card and people's need to seem special to promote this card.

Sticking with my airline cards and my Disney card, thank you very much!

We get offers for black, titanium, etc cards. For us, the prestige of having the elite credit card doesn't offset the $500 annual fee We are happy to stick with our Disney visa.
