We are heading out on the Mediterranean Cruise on DCL in May and are arriving in Barcelona for a couple days prior to the cruise. Have five in the party so we need two hotel rooms. I have never been to Barcelona so I don't know the city. Looking for something with a location where we can still tour the parts of the city that we, as tourists, would want to see (rather than staying in, say, the financial district) and without having to pay a fortune for the hotel rooms. Any suggestions? Hotel names? Locations I should drift toward? Help!
To all our past and future med cruisers. Has anyone used this hotel. What did you think of it. Does Disney offer hotel transfers from the airport and to the cruise terminal. If so do you know what they are charging for transfers. Thanks Cindy
I am going to merge this thread with the existing Barcelona thread to keep all the hotel discussions in one place.

Good idea.I am going to merge this thread with the existing Barcelona thread to keep all the hotel discussions in one place.
Considered, yes. Done it, not so far. Barcelona definitely has hotels listed in several "areas."Have any of you considered Priceline?? I'm not sure if Barcelona participates, but when we travelled to London 3 years ago I spent a month playing the 'game' at Priceline...there are websites that show you how to keep bidding until you get what you want, I probably spent about 2 dozen attempts, but finally my offer was accepted at less than a third of what the hotel advertised...it was a 4 star, right across the street from Hyde Park and fit our family of five...(we booked two rooms)
As long as you stick to 4 star or above, you can get a room for around $65-$75 a night...with London it was separated into zones so I was able to only focus on hotels in Kensington....Barcelona may be different....

I personally do not like the location of this hotel, its to the east of Barcelona, I like to be able to go out for a walk at night and walk around the highlights so hotels more centrally located are better for me.
Placa Catalunya area is best imho for hotels as thats where the tourist buses start two routes, and also there is a train and bus hub there, also both from the airport, and you can walk down La Rambla, and also the Hard rock cafe is there.
