Yay or Nay.... the whole package.... her politics, her singing, the dumb way she spells "Barbra"....

Love her acting, directing, singing, spelling of her name, AND her politics.

Love her. Would not fork over $150 to hear her or much of anyone anymore. Wouldn't spend one single second worrying about how anyone spells their name. I drive a school bus in an urban school system. If I worried about weird names and spellings, I'd be committed by now. Much, much bigger fish to fry.

I'd rather stab myself in the eye with a pencil than watch and listen to that old hag sing and rant.

You gotta love it.... :lmao:

I never cared for her singing. But on top of that her mouth seems to make her less likeable.

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and will make an attempt to look beyond certain things if they have talent, but she just rubs me the wrong way, and that opinon was way before this week's outburst.

Wow I voted and was surprised I was in the majority.......she is a great talent of our time but I am not crazy about the whole package.....I am actually tired of her being in my face telling me what to think....

OK. I just saw what happened on the news, I am thinking, hey lady, just entertain, you sing and your voice is beautiful when singing, the other stuff I do not want to hear......but they are saying the person who questioned her was a plant and she was responding to that...

Not sure exactly what happened, just what I saw this am on the news.

Never cared much for her singing. She's just not my style although she has an incredible gift.

Love her politics and glad that she uses her "bully pulpit" against bush and his lemmings. The fact that the right can't stand her for speaking out, makes it that much better. Too bad...it's called freedom of speech.

Too many people who rally around free speech hate the fact that unfavorably consequences come with it. The Dixie Chicks learned that lesson. They thought people not going to their concerts was an attack on free speech. It wasn't, it was a consequence of their free speech.

I would think most people who paid to hear Babs sing paid to hear her sing. If she doesn't want people to heckle her when she starts to give political commentary, she should just shut up and sing.

I suspect that most people at a Striesand concert appreciate her politics.

There are plenty of Country singers that support bush. I suspect that most people at their concerts appreciate their politics.

Free speech does have it's consequences. I'm gald that she has the backbone to stand up and speak her mind, inspite of those that would attempt to stiffle that fundamental American right.

I never really liked her so I wouldnt pay to hear her. Couldnt care less what her political leanings are and if she wants to use her stage for it well Its no skin off my nose. Im not there anyway.

:confused3

I actually think she is quite overrated.

Love her singing and acting. As with ALL entertainers, I wish they'd just leave their causes and politics at the door when they are suppose to be performing their arts.

I've never liked her. I don't dislike anyone because of their political views (I lean conservative, but have good friends who are very liberal). I just don't like her singing.

That seems to be a problem with alot of people in Hollywood. They seem to think that we could give a rats patootie what they think when it comes to politics. :confused3 They are making millions to entertain us, whether it's to make movies or sing or whatever. They need to learn to shut up and keep their political views to themselves. Don't tell me who to like and hate and don't tell me how to vote.

Do they really think that much of themselves? Are they that egotistical that they think that we could care less who they are voting for? They need to just get over themselves.

If people are actually going to the polls and are placing their votes on what a singer or actor thinks and are actually voting for a certain canditate because their "favorite" star told them to, then this country is in alot of trouble. The president and other elected officals would be voted in not because people agreed with them or stood behind what they believed in but because a bunch of idiots who couldn't think for themselves voted.

I voted yes, but I don't really like the fact that she used her concert as a place to voice her political thoughts. If I had the money to blow I would go to see her in a second, BUT I would be pretty ticked off if she did more than just sing (that's what I paid to hear). I wouldn't boo or heckle...but that would be my time to go potty.

That would be an interesting poll. I thought about that while reading the other "Babs" thread.

I'm curious, who's attempting to "stifle" her fundamental American right? If you believe you have the right to say whatever you want, then you should be prepared to suffer ANY consequences. Defending your principles is one thing but complaining (that someone is trying to "stifle" your freedom of speech) makes you look like a crybaby.

Regardless of her politics, she annoys me, always has.

Pretty much my feelings. And if you saw "Meet the Fockers", I'd bet that her on screen character was a reflection of herself in real life.
