I've never been a Streisand fan, and I did think she came off as an out-of-touch fruitcake on Oprah, but I feel kind of sorry for her. It seems to me that she lives a very sheltered existence. It's been well publicized that she has severe stage fright. She was clearly very uncomfortable, which may also explain the sweater (trying to hide.) BTW, at the risk of showing my age, those sweaters with the huge collars were all the rage when I was in high school, 20 years ago. I had one that looked just like the one she was wearing. Maybe she picked it up at Goodwill! lol
Mostly, I feel sorry for her because I'm very shy around people I don't know. I get very uncomfortable, and have a hard time participating in conversation. I end up saying things that sound really off the wall, which makes me feel like an idiot, which exacerbates the whole situation.
It's also well reported, though, that she is a total control freak, so maybe that's where the stage fright comes from, since you can never control what happens in a live performance/interview.
Having said all that, though, I doubt anyone has a gun pointed to her head, forcing her to perform and give interviews. Maybe she should just stay home with her flowers and her dog, counting her money.
