Barbie and Ken do Disney Trip Report COMPLETED!!

Just a tip - no matter HOW much time you spend at the parks, you will ALWAYS feel it's never enough. Really. So stop stressin' and just enjoy the ride! I can't wait to read all about your trip!! :)

You're tellin me! When I first started planning for an Orlando trip this summer it was going to be 4 nights (2 days at Orlando, 1 day at MK and a waterpark.) It then somehow turned into 9 nights! haha! 4 nights staying at Villas of Grand Cypress (2 days universal, 1 day relax, 1 day Disney) and then 5 nights on site at the WL with a dining package... Hopefully FREE dining but we will see... I couldn't help it the more I read the more I wanted to do so I just kept expanding our trip!!

Blayne-I too will be going with my boyfriend at the end of this August! We were also high school sweet hearts, except we did break up for a small period of time during our senior year. No worries though we got back together and this time we've been dating for 1 year 5 months and 11 days haha. If you don't count the time we broke up it'd be nearly 3 years. We're going to celebrate our 2 year (this time) anniversary! Brian is like your boyfriend, he's letting me do all the planning, when I talk about it he just doesn't seem interested and it kills me! But reading some of the responses on here I'm not worried anymore seems most guys are like that... haha. He IS excited... just doesn't want to plan out every detail... guys... what's wrong with them?! :confused3 You and your boyfriend are adorable and I think it's so sweet what your parents did! My parents are divorced, but I don't think either one of them would've ever let my boyfriend move in no matter the situation... oh well some parents are just cooler than others! lol. Have fun on your trip!! I've really enjoyed your pre-trip report so far so I can just imagine your trip report will be amazing!! :cool1:

Blayne, I have not read all 9 pages but you wrote a little someting on my post (dream trip that almost did not happen) and I noticed your pre-trip report and wanted to read it...
First you guys seem like a lovely couple, I met my hubby when I was 18 and we married 8 years later, we have been married for 13 years but have been together since 1986... he comes from an Iffy family too, a lot of trouble, but then came into my life. My family is very close and I think that's what saved him... because he was really messed up, and was heading down a very dangerous path...
Anyway... hope you have fun in Disney... a take it one day at a time...

Its so much fun to see you so pumped up for your mouse visit. There is nothing like that first time..
entering the MK and walking on main street. The first
view of the castle will send chills down your spine..
Magical, truly magical. I can vividly recall our first
visit and it was wonderful! No doubt you are going
to love everything about disney since your already
obsessed and you have never experienced it! When
you view those monorail resorts, I bet you will want
to stay at one of those on a future trip. Cirque is
such a unique show. We absolutely loved it! The
anticipation is really half the fun. Can't wait to read
your TR on your return. I have a feeling you are going
to be addicted, like most of us on these boards. Wishing
you oodles of pixie dust for one of the best experiences
of your life!!:goodvibes

Hi! Its kind of insane how excited I am. I tend to become obsessed with something when I am excited about it and in this case I think its helped - well... except for the doodling Mickey Mouses and countdowns all over my notebook when Im supposed to be paying attention in AP Psychology!! :rotfl: I cannot wait to see the castle. I have dreamed about going to Disney since I was little and I just cannot wait. I already feel magical just to be GOING! The plane ride is even going to be magical!! I already want to stay at a monorail resort. I really would love to stay at the Poly. The Contemporary is really nice too. --> I cant wait to see Cirque! Im sure it is going to be quite an experience! Thanks for reading!! :goodvibes

Just a tip - no matter HOW much time you spend at the parks, you will ALWAYS feel it's never enough. Really. So stop stressin' and just enjoy the ride! I can't wait to read all about your trip!! :)

:rotfl: Your completely right. I will probably never be able to get enough time there! But your also right in telling me to stop stressing. I pretty much have stopped in the past couple of days. Whatever is going to happen is going to happen I just need to make sure that I enjoy it as much as possible!

I just have to tell you...I think you all are just the cutest couple! Love the pictures...can't wait for pictures of the trip!
I am so envious of you all and this fabulous trip. What an amazing time to be able to plan such a trip...I just graduated from college w/a degree in hospitality management and tourism. I give your trip an A+!! Disney is absolutely my fave place to go...ohmygosh SO SO jealous!! Can't wait for more updates...your so so close!

Hey! Thank you so much! I will take plenty of pictures believe me! Thanks for the A+! I was always interested in Hospitality management and tourism! Where did you go to school? 13 more days! I will try to update asap! - however nothing really significant has happened so I dont know what to update about haha! :rotfl:

Hey! Im glad you and your boyfriend are going strong! Don't worry about him not participating much in the planning. They are ALL THE SAME! I really don't understand how someone could let someone else plan there trip. It just doesnt register in my brain! I want to know about EVERYTHING and plan EVERYTHING! :rotfl: About my parents, they are just sweeties and have always been "THE COOL PARENTS". The "Co-ed sleepover" cool parents! :rotfl: I love them oodles! Im glad you enjoyed my pretrip! Keep reading! :goodvibes

Hi! You should definitely read all 9 pages .. in fact - I RECOMMEND IT :rotfl: Thanks! I like to think that we are pretty lovely! "Iffy" families are the worst aren't they? His family just did not treat him like he deserved to be treated. Todd was weird when I met him. He's MUCH better now. In fact he's just like me except a boy! I think that my family definitely saved him and I do have to take a little credit for the man he is today! ;) Im glad your hubby could be helped. Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

Hi! :wave2: I'm all caught up again! Your revised schedule looks good! :thumbsup2 I wanted to tell you not to worry about breaking up days at the parks. It may look like you're not getting enough time on paper, but when you are actually walking around the parks, 5 hours will seem like a loooong time. Since this is your first time to WDW, it's hard to know what you will be able to endure. You'll understand what I'm saying when you get there. What we've found that works best for us is to break the days in half. We'll go to one park for the day, go back to the room late afternoon, and then have dinner somewhere and go to a different park until close. I'm sure you and Todd will probably be like Energizer bunnies, so you may very well be able to hit a park all day long and keep going, and going, and going! LOL!

I love all of your Disney scrapbooking stuff! Jordan lets me know everytime new Disney stickers come in at Michael's! It's good to have that employee discount! :lmao:

I can't believe your trip is almost here!!! :cheer2:

Not long now...not long now!!! NOT LONG NOW!!!!!:cool1: I bet you are so excited right about now! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Hi Blayne-I just got caught up on your pre-trip report, it had been awhile since I read. Your excitement is contagious and I'm so happy for you guys. It's been a while since I posted on this thread so I just want to say HAVE A BLAST! Before my BF and I went in November I started sending him e-mails each day while I was at work to remind him exactly how many days we had left and I put a Disney pic of a character in each one. So cheesy, but fun! You don't have long to go now at all! The anticipation is part of the fun!!!:cheer2:

Hi Michelle! Im trying to not to stess anymore about the schedule. Your right. 5 hours on foot is a LONG time! I have one day where we are going to MGM for about 5 hours and then going to the hotel and then the P&PP. At first I was like.. hmm maybe I should just cut MGM .. but 5 hours is a lot of time!! We are mostly either doing one park all day or one park in morning/break/dinner and fun at another park at night!

I love all my disney scrapbooking stuff too! :rotfl: thank you! Thats good that Jordan gets the "sweet hook up"! Unfortunately at Joanns Fabrics we always have the same Disney stickers so I own 2 copies of all of them! ;) Its almost here It's almost here!!

Not long now...not long now!!! NOT LONG NOW!!!!!:cool1: I bet you are so excited right about now! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Hi Dizchick! Thank you for reading! Thanks for the good wishes - i hope that it is fantastic - I don't really see how it could not be .. but maybe I shouldnt say that! ;) Thats a REALLY adorable idea with the emails. To bad Todd doesn't even use the computer .. I would have liked to do that! I CANT WAIT TO GO -- THE ANTICIPATION IS KILLLLLLINNNNNG ME! :goodvibes

Hey everyone!

Only 10 DAYS AND A WAKE UP!

  :yay: :yay:

Im not sure why my counter is off. Is really is only 10 days and a wakeup. NOT 11 DAYS! Oh well. That doesn't really matter!

Anyway HI! Its been a few days since my last post and the excitement is building and building! Now that our itinerary is set and ready to go, I feel confident that I can start planning the next trip! :rotfl: I've already been looking at quotes for my birthday week in August! Todd was actually really sweet and said "We will DEFINITELY go if I have the money!" So he will let me know about that! I love that boy!

We still have a lot to do until our trip. We need to buy a bunch of travel sized things and I have yet to do all the packing. The only thing that Im not sure about is HOW DO I CARRY MY THINGS AROUND THE PARK WITH ME?! I mean, Im going to have a wallet, tickets, camera etc. Im never without my pocketbook but I feel that that would be too excessive to carry to the park. NO WAY AM I BRINGING MY AMAZING BROWN SUEDE COACH BAG TO DISNEY WORLD! NO WAY JOSE! :rotfl: So what should I do? Do I get a little back pack? If so, is there a place to put them on rides like Rockin' Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, "the mountains" and all the other rides?? HELP! Im not sure what to do! Im probably also going to want to carry a water bottle. And what about things I buy in the park? Oh no. I went from calm and collected to WORRY WART in 10 SECONDS!

Im also starting to get sad about Krull. I will miss Krull oodles. I have NEVER been away from my baby for a significant amount of time. Krull is the type of dog who will stop eating and be miserable if he misses us. I hope my parents can keep him happy!! :sad2:

On a happier note! I am going to Disney World. I can't believe its almost here and I have definitely run out of things to write about on this pre trippie! I cant believe you guys are still reading this RUBBISH! :rotfl: Tonight we will be going to CVS to get a bunch of little things from the travel section and I will probably start packing this weekend! :yay:

I AM GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!

Bye for now guys! :wizard:

About the bag for Disney. I wouldn't bring my coach bag into the parks if I were you. There's pretty good chance that it'll get dirty or wet or you'll set it in ketchup or something at a restaurant (hey-I would!) I have this great bag that I bought years ago at Old Navy that's just a cotton shoulder bag that holds all the stuff that I'll need for the day (wallet, tickets, camera, hairbrush, lipgloss, phone, etc.) (I guess you can tell that i'm not the kind of person who can just go w/ my ticket in my pocket) I just carry it around with me all day and it doesn't matter if it gets messed up b/c inexpensive and can be thrown in the wash once I get home. You can always rent a locker too during the day if you get tired of carrying it around.

Hi Blayne!!!

About the carrying stuff in the park. We use a back pack. It's great. My camera stuff actually takes up most of the space, but we can also fit ponchos, water bottles, etc in it.

I also have a sling type fanny pack...for lack of a better term. It's just perfect for tickets, fast passes, ID's and my $$$. I leave my wallet in the safe at the room.

You should look into upgrading your tickets to AP's if you're serious about going in August. Then, if free dining comes out you can just buy a 1 day pass. If no free dining, you could rent DVC points and buy the dining plan, if you guys end up liking it. (which I'm sure you will)

Also, I thought you knew you could send your stuff back to the room??? The parks will have it delivered right to your resort gift shop and you can pick it up. I thought I read your Dad had told you that? If you don't want to do that, you can also have it sent to the front of the park, to pick up when you leave.

Oh, btw.....Todd gets to carry the back pack........its a rule ;)

Hey Blayne - I have been reading your pre-TR and it gets me soooo excited about going to Disney too. My last trip was October 2006. I'm going to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea in March and on an eight-day trip to WDW in October. My WDW trip is like 8 months away but I think about it at least four hours total per day!!! My husband has about had it with my Disney blabbering.

Regarding bags - I have this little guy in olive:

http://www.bagsbuy.com/s.jsp/r_prof/br_Baggallini/p_1/st_121625/sbstl_285299

I guess $38 is a bit expensive, but I really like this bag because it fits around your body and is small - but you can fit water, phone, all the essentials in it. I'm sure Target or Old Navy has some good stuff, but I would make sure you get something that you can strap around your body like a messenger bag - you're going to be riding stuff like Expedition Everest and Tower of Terror if you bring a tote bag or something similar it won't be secure.

Only a few more days to go and you'll be in THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH! :yay:

Oh!!! About that, I forgot to mention, I was typing so much else!!! LOL.

On ToT and others, the backpack goes on the floor, but I loop the handles around my leg. (DH does not get to do this part...I'm much to anxious about it getting lost....lol) Just another tip!

Hi Blayne, I'm late to your trippie, story of my life!

So so excited for you, I can feel your enthusiasm through your writing. I just know you are going to have an amazing time! You two are so cute by the way!

Crocs, your feet will thank you! I used to think they were hideous too but the peer pressure of the DIS got to me and I ordered some last summer. Now I have 2 pair and am hankering for more. I wore them on my trip and not once had a foot issue.

For a bag, get a Baggalini Messenger bag, try bagbuy.com. Come in a bunch of colors and honestly it was the next best thing next to my Crocs. It is small yet holds a ton, comfy, can easily be worn on rides and has the most perfect zip pocket on the strap for holding tickets.

And our fave character meal was the b'fast at 1900 Park Faire. GREAT food and the BEST character interaction!

Looking forward to more of your report!

Allyson

:cheer2: Single digits Blaynexox, before you know it you will be in DISNEY!!:cheer2:
I would get a cheap bag(purse) with a long handle to go across your body, or a backpack that has the two thin cords. I too just wrap it around a leg a couple times to make sure it's not going anywhere :) It's to late to really order anything online or I would have suggested a LIME GREEN Baggallini!! Have fun girl!! Don't forget your note book, we want details details details when you get back!! :goodvibes jen

After reading some of the recent posts I went searching for bags already for my August trip! From using the information on mouse savers (under Discount Disney shopping mall then go down to e-bags) I just got one of those baggallini bags (the nylon one in pink) for 20% off and then being a first time user of the google check out I saved another $10 on top of that! That made my total $22.94!! Saved me $17 :thumbsup2 You should try looking around on there, I bet they have express shipping and if you wanted to risk it even standard shipping usually arrives in a week...

Hi Blayne!

I just read your pre trip report and had much fun reading it! And I see you're down to a couple of days now. I hope you'll have a great time in Disneyworld and I can't wait to read your actual trip report! :)

9 DAYS!!! :cheer2: DO YOU KNOW HOW LUCKY YOU ARE!!!!??? I gotta wait until JUNE! You are gonna have so much fun!!

You're down to 8 days! Woo hoo!

We just got back last night and had a great time. The Pirate and Princess party was sooooooo much fun! We absolutely loved it!

So excited for you!

Also, we bring a small book bag with us to the parks. You can bring it on all of the rides, even Rock n Roller Coaster. Last time we went on we were concerned with bringing it on with us but a cast member told us you could literally put a coin on the floor of the roller coaster and somehow because of gravity it wouldn't move due to the speed and acceleration. We took our chances and all was well!

Yay you are going sooo soon! I am so excited for you, but I will miss you in veggie food prep. I can't wait to talk about your trip afterwards though. I am sure you will have stories to last us at least ten class periods NO JOKE. :lmao: Hopefully you can use all the toiletries and the earplanes. I cannot wait until my trip:dance3:

Hey Dear!! Oh boy! We are leaving SO SOON! I CANT BELIEVE IT! You must be PUMPED - IM PUMPED!! So I ended up getting a baggalini messenger bag. And of course I will make Todd carry it most of the time! haha I really think we will look into APs. Oh ya - silly me forgot that we already had a big discussion about sending stuff back to POP - but you know I was in a little bit of a tizzy when I wrote that! :rotfl: Cant wait! YAY! :yay:

I got it for 32 or so because I had to have them 2 day air it so it would be hear in time for my trip since for some reason i was very last minute about it! Thanks for reading! :yay:
