Barbie and Ken do Disney Trip Report COMPLETED!!

:wave2: Just wanted to say hi! I love your trip report. I have to say I experience the same dilemma with my hair. I go to all the trouble to straighten it with my flat iron and use all of my defrizz products then I walk outside and instantly I look like Rosanne Roseannadanna from SNL. Florida humidty wreaks havoc on my hair. I don't even worry with makeup anymore on my Disney trips b/c I am going to sweat it off.

Hope everything is good with your job search. Little kids will love you!

HAHA! IM HERE GUYS! You are all too funny! Nothing happened to me! Im fine, happy and busy here in Peabody, Mass! Safe and sound. Okay well Im sure no one wants to hear anymore EXCUSES so on to DAY 3!!!

Day 3 Pirate and Princess Party Day!!

Today we woke up to Stitch once again. After our first fantastic park day, it was a LITTLE bit more difficult to rouse ourselves out of bed, but we managed! We decided it was best to skip breakfast after yesterdays fiasco. So, after we got ready and I MADE SURE that we had our tickets, we were off to MGM. We were both really excited about this park because we had a feeling it would be one of our favorite! When we got to the park, we were probably the 5th people in line, so we were VERY excited!!

IMG_2498.jpg

When they let us in, we were led over to the area where they give the opening show. We were right up front to watch. It was very cute, however the family that got picked to be on it was not that entertaining and I remember grumbling to Todd that they should have picked US!

When they finally dropped the rope and let us run, Todd and I RAN to Rockin' Rollercoaster. Since we had never been to Disney before, we kind of just followed the insane mass of people and figured that wherever they were going, WE would go. We hadn't decided to ride this first, but the excitement was contagious so we went with the mass! When we got there, I was VERY excited! Todd got in the standby line and I ran to get a fastpass. However, I ALWAYS PICK THE WRONG LINE! ALWAYS! It never seems to fail. I got behind this woman who was getting 40 FASTPASSES! Yup! FORTY! And did she care? NO! And could I switch lines? NO TOO MANY PEOPLE! Everyone in line was yelling at her and I was talking bad about her as if she wasn't there ( I MEAN COME ON PEOPLE! FORTY FASTPASSES! THATS A LITTLE EXCESSIVE!) Plus, this lady obviously didn't know that Disney can get a LITTLE intense in the mornings when you're trying to be the first person in there! So FINALLY I got our fastpasses and made it just in time. We were swooped on in and walked through the queue and waited for the preshow. There was this INSANELY creepy guy in front of us who would not stop staring down my shirt. Im not talking a quick glance, I mean I can understand that - I am slightly well endowed! BUT COME ON HERE! This was one of those creepy pervert long stares that lasted till we went in. Todd was like "What the hell is your problem" and the guy didn't even acknowledge him, he just KEPT STARING! It was gross, i was totally skeeved and did not want to go into the dark preshow. But into the dark preshow we go! I had already watched the preshow on the Planning DVD so Todd and I attempted to sneak closer to the door as all this was going on in a noticeable attempt to escape my "ogling stalker". When the doors opened, Todd and I raced ahead to get away from creep face and got seated on the ride. All I can save was AMAZING! This ride was AMAZING! Omgosh, it was AMAZING! Insane and amazing! AND I kept my eyes open ALMOST the whole time! Quite exciting! After the ride, we went outside and got some of our first photopass pictures taken. I wish I could show you, but I haven't bought the cd yet. We saw that Tower of Terror was only a 20 minute wait, so we grabbed fastpasses and then headed in. I have to say it is SO completely exciting and scary when you have NO idea what is going to happen on the rides due to it being your first time. I was having a blast!

IMG_2503.jpg

The 20 minute wait ended up being only about 7 minutes. It was great. I loved the scenery and was totally creeped out, which was good! We got to go ahead of everyone because we were only 2 people (we came across this alot during our trip). When we were strapped in and ready, I started to get really nervous. There was a tiny little boy sitting next to me and he didn't seem scared, so I TRIED not to be scared. And it worked! I was scared as we went up as I often am, but it was FUN! FUN FUN FUN! I thought that I was going to fly out of my seat and out the door and splatter on the beautiful streets of MGM, but it WAS FUN! After, we did a little bit of shopping.

IMG_2507.jpg

IMG_2508.jpg

I was a little disappointed with Villains in Vogue. I had expected a shop FULL of villains stuff, but it was mostly pirates. Why have pirates taken over Disney? Last time I checked pirates were NOT very disney-like gosh darnit! Im just a little bitter because I expected there to be tons of Cruella De Vil stuff, as she is my FAVORITE character but NO! Todd did however buy me a cute black shirt that had Ursula, Cruella, Malificent, and the Evil Queen and said - "The Best of the Worst" It was cute.

IMG_2510.jpg

At this point we were STARVING and desperately searching for food, but not finding any. I decided that I wanted to go on the Great Movie Ride. So a small walk and a million photopass pictures later, we arrived. Now this was DEFINITELY a mistake. The wait said 20 minutes, but we definitely waited longer and ended up missing our fastpasses for both Rockin' Rollercoaster AND Tower of Terror (yeah I was pissed). This ride was cute, but it was ruined for me by the gangster who rode in our car. He was NOT a gangster by any means, he was the most "feminine" male I had ever met and he just sucked at his role. It ruined the ride for Todd and I and we got really excited when he turned into a skeleton and was no longer with us! The ride WAS cute though, I must admit. Just not cute enough to miss Rockin' Rollercoaster AND the Tower of Terror. Not at all! As we were walking out of the GMR, we noticed that it was character time. This got me ALL SORTS OF EXCITED because I had NEVER EVER EVER met a character before!! I decided that I wanted to see Minnie and Goofy first so we jumped in the line. I was more nervous to meet Minnie and Goofy than I was to ride Tower of Terror. I wasn't sure how to behave, it was NERVE RACKING! When we finally got up there (we were the ONLY adults in the line), Goofy ran away with me and motioned to Todd that he couldn't have me, when we took pictures and Goofy finally let me out of his grasp, I turned to Todd when we were out of earshot and declared "GOOFY IS A CREEP AND I DONT LIKE HIM!"

IMG_2511.jpg

I think it was just the nerves talking though because I seemed to warm up to the characters a lot over the next couple of days! Next was Chip N' Dale and they were MUCH better. Nice and squishy and snuggly. Yep, I'll admit I definitely like the characters in snuggly costumes better. I tend to worry about the other ones more and wonder that horrible non-disney question of "WHO THE HELL IS IN THERE?" Oh well, it remains a mystery. Although wait till I tell you about Rafiki and what he did to me.. Okay Off topic sorry!

IMG_2516.jpg

Next we took an aimless stroll, not knowing where we were going. We came across Sully without a line and jumped on in!

IMG_2517.jpg

I love Monsters Inc! I was worried about the guy inside that one though. That poor poor thing! After that I finally read my times guide and found out that Buzz and Woody would be at Al's Toy Barn. Now I LOVE TOY STORY. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! So this excited me. We stopped to take a pic at sci fi in this cute little car -

IMG_2518.jpg

And then WE WERE ON OUR WAY! A few wrong turns and some directions later we finally found Al's Toy Barn. Jeesh those Disney momma's can be rude! They were pushing and shoving there children in FRONT of us when we were already in line. We probably had about 4 families cut us until we got fed up and stood our ground. I mean GOSH I LIKE TOY STORY TOO YA KNOW! ITS MORE MY GENERATION THAN YOUR CHILDRENS! Oh boy, sorry. I was getting a little grumpy and agitated at that point. You couldn't tell from my pictures though!

At this point, Todd and I were so hungy, that we were getting grumpy and unbearable. We were beginning to bicker, which is what we usually do when we are hungry. It was an hour until our ADR at 50's Prime Time, but we decided to see if we could get in anyways. We did. We waited about 10 minutes and then were called. I knew that this wasn't going to be a good meal when they bypassed all the "FUN" tables and stuck us in a smelly little corner with absolutely not ONE bit of scenery and NOTHING special. It sucked. IT WAS NO FUN! I guess in my mind, I thought the whole place was those cute little kitchens, nope not for us. We got the shaft! Our server was Uncle Tommy, he was creepy. Todd was grumpy and I was trying to cheer him up because I didn't want this to ruin our day. Here is Todd looking wistfully at the "fun tables", while we moped in our dirty corner.

IMG_2528.jpg

He wasn't satisfied with the menu and didn't know why I chose this place. At this point, I wasn't sure why I chose it either. I guess I thought it would be really fun, but it wasn't turning out to be fun at all. We decided on our appetizers. I got the Toasted Herb Cheese with Bread and Fruit and Todd got the Onion Rings.

IMG_2529.jpg

IMG_2530.jpg

My Toasted Herb Cheese was very good. Very different. I liked it a lot though because I am a CHEESE LOVER. Todd liked his onion rings too. We each got an ice water and a smoothie - me Strawberry and Todd - chocolate. They were delicious. Todd really didn't like any of the entrees offered and finally decided to get the Fried Chicken after he grumped a little. He was nervous that they would make him eat the veggies. They didn't and it he actually somewhat liked his chicken, either that or he was just plain starving. I ordered the Fried Fish sandwich. It wasn't that good and Im not sure why I ordered it.

IMG_2536.jpg

Todd and I thought the little Viewers you use to find your dessert were really cute. For dessert Todd got the Brownie Sundae and I got the Smores.

IMG_2540.jpg

IMG_2541.jpg

My smores were really delcious and I loved them. They were just like smores you would make at camp. (I went to Camp Rotary as a child, any other Rotary-er's out there?) We decided overall that we would probably NEVER come back here. We didn't have a good server and just REALLY didn't have any fun. We WANTED to have fun, the waitress next to us was fun, our waiter was just a dud and we were in a bad location. The entrees weren't that great either, I would have just been happy with my appetizer and dessert! :rotfl: Oh well. We were grumpy and it was a mutual desicion that we were ready to leave and get ourselves back to Pop for a 2 hour catnap.

Up Next - PIRATE AND PRINCESS PARTY! I promise I will update tomorrow. Thank you everyone for being patient, you all rock!

Great update, Blayne! I'm so glad you LOVED RnRC and ToT! They are two of my very favorites!

We've eaten at Prime Time a few times, and sometimes it's been fun, and sometimes not so much. The last trip we had a terrible server, and it really pretty much ruined it for us, though the food was good. I think we'll give that place a rest for a while!

Looking forward to more!

I ate at 50's Prime Time last week, and I must say, I'm not a fan of it either. Though I ALMOST ordered that appetizer with the herb cheese, and now after seeing that picture I'm kicking myself. Oh well.

Love the TR!

Yay! You're alive! Glad that you loved the thrill rides. I love the character photos, especially the one with Woody. Sorry that you didn't like 50's Prime Time Cafe. We've always had such wonderful experiences there. In a positive light, that's what makes Disney great though, there's something for everyone :goodvibes . Can't wait to read more :cutie:

Thank you for the update, I was getting worried there and close to calling in a search party for you. I liked your pictures at MGM, did you feel it was easy to get turned around in that park? Cause I couldn't make heads or tails of where I was at half the time. :confused3
Sorry your meal was poopy, I was planning on going there in Dec, I think I changed my mind.
I think the line for RnR attracts the wierd ones, that's their hangout.
Can't wait for your next installment. popcorn::

BTW, hows the whole job thing?
