Okay, so my DS (6) has decided to get his haircut while on vacation this year. My question is.....has anyone ever had them cut a flat-top? I'm guessing since it's a barbershop, we should be okay? But, I'm a little nervous. We are going on a 7 day cruise after 2 days in WDW and I don't want his hair to be a mess. Can anyone give me reassurance?

Rest assured.... last October DS 6, and DS 15 both got flat tops with glitter pixie dust and colored hair gel. Go early and be prepared to wait. Our wait was an hour. Have your camera ready as well. The boys both loved it!!!

my DS (now 9) and my DH have been getting them there for years. They are not as "high and tight" as my ex-military and current cop husband would like, but they aren't bad.

Thanks for the quick response, this makes me feel much better. I too like it to be 'high and tight' as it looks cleaner. My son (6) is actually the one that started asking for this when he was 3.5 years old.....just like his papa's, please mom. Actually wore it a little longer this past school year, as he says he was growing it long (that's all the rage in the elementary school right now). He's acutally very particular when it comes to his hair, and I was quite surprised to hear him announce he was going to wait 'til we got to WDW to get a haircut. Gosh, if this is what I have to go through twhen he's 6, what do I have to look for when he's 16?!?!

we're getting our son's hair cut there as well. It's been about a month and a half since last haircut, and by the time we get there it will have been almost three months :earseek: He's getting SHAGGY!!!! But he's really excited as am I. My daughter doesn't need her hair cut, but would they be willing to trim her bangs and maybe fix it in braids or something like that? Anyone know?

They will do pretty much anything you ask. Even if your dtr doesn't need a hair cut, they will be happy to braid it for her or just pixie dust and colored gel if she wants.

My son and dtr did this last time we were there. My son is 7 and very much an introvert. He does not like any type of attention drawn to him. He really suprised me when he asked the lady for a blue Mickey head on the back of his hair.

Have a great time.

Thanks for your response! I'm really excited about doing this and I've got the kids pretty hyped up about it as well :). I'm trying to talk my DH into doing it, but so far I've had no luck :(. Who knows though, maybe I'll do something as well :).

Anyone know if there is a time of day that has a shorter wait. I hate to spend my morning waiting for a haircut when the ride lines are lowest. Does it ever slow down in the afternoon? Thanks

We're kind of in the same quandry. I wanted to go to the barbershop first thing in the park, but my DH is grumblinb b/c we need to be hitting rides instead of getting a haircut :)

I think you can find this info on www.allears.net, however I BELIEVE that the prices are $12 for children and.....$15 for adults? I think that's right. I'm sure about the child price but not the adult. Hope this helps!

LOL I wanted to bring my 4yo to get his shaggy hair cut today, but he announced that he's waiting until her goes to WDW (that's where he had his last haircut in February). The problem is, I'm not sure when we're going back, but it will be late September at the earliest, and he will need a couple haircuts between now and then. I'm going to have my DH deal with him.

T&B :teeth:

We just got back from 12 wonderful days at the world and the day before we left I took my DS4 to our usual hair salon and had the mickey mouse ears shaved into the back of his head. Talk about a great response wherever he went - people were constantly complimenting him. He felt super special.
