Barbara Walters, do you think she should step aside?

I'm watching Barbara Walters do an interview and I feel like her sharpness or "edge" is gone.
I'm starting to think she should step aside and let someone else have a stab at her major interviews. What do you think?
Should she stay as long as possible or gracefully start to disappear?

Yes - I believe she should retire. I don't enjoy her interviews any more.......

But that being said - its my choice to watch or not watch. I'm trying to ween myself off the View..........

I saw her on the View this AM. I gotta say - her facelifts are holding up quite well. Haven't seen the interview, so won't comment on her edginess. But, eh - she's Barbara Walters, if she wants to do interviews, she should do them.

I wouldn't mind if she quit. Never liked her style much but step aside? I don't understand? People do the interviews because it's her not because they have to. If she stops doing them I suspect a lot of the interviews just won't get done as she's one of the few interviews many celebs seem to trust.

I am watching the Obama family interview right now and I agree she is soft with the questions she is asking.
But in her defense, she seems soft to every person she truely admires and gets very into their face of the people she does not like or the people whos ideals are different from hers, as any of us would be.

She's an employee of ABC News. If they are not happy with her, they can yank her. I'm sure they would do it diplomatically, they would just send another reporter.

I personally think it is better to leave gracefully. IMHO that point has passed.

Something about what she said during her book press tour really annoyed me. Can't remember why I have a bad taste in my mouth. But she's very self-centered and arrogant (in a sweet way, though. Which is why you want to like her). I wouldn't mind if she retired.
