I wonder if anyone can help? We are not travelling to Florida this year, sob, but we are going next year, hurray! For a change we are going to Barbados in October. Now, I know its not to do with Disney but I was wondering if anyone has been here and, if so can you give any tips/advice?

I went there last year and it was great. The weather is typically tropical with many thunderstorms. The beaches are fabulous with huge waves in Bathsheba and gentle calm Carribean seas on the other side. We went to Sandy Lane and Mullins beaches the most.

The roads are a nightmare with very very few signposts. Example - we set out for dinner one evening and two hours later we were still lost, trying to locate a lovely restaurant that we had read about. It was dark and with no sign posts everything looked different.

It's about on par with the UK for food, so fairly expensive. All in all I loved it there and the people were really friendly.

Hope you have a brilliant time.

Tina

I went quite a few years ago. I stayed in a hotel on the lovely west coast, near the village of Holetown.

We too hired a car and got hopelessly lost. The main roads disappear into tracks with no signposts whatsoever. It was funny at first but then we got quite frightened. I think that it is better to go on an organised tour or hire a car and driver if you want to see the island.

The island is beautiful and the people are really friendly.

Have a great time!

Sounds like you will really enjoy it

Have a great time
