Banshees

My DD just “had to have” one of these last year, she played with it for a day and it’s been sitting in a closet ever since. We have a whole closet full of toys bought in Disney that they “had to have” lol. My youngest just rediscovered “My Pal Mickey” from like 15 years ago buried in there, and he still talks!

Thought we were the only ones ! My daughter bought them on two separate trips and doesn't play with either ! One is still in the box ! The shoulder "harness" is way too incomfortable and, just my opinion, but so much more could have been done with these , especially given the price. Could have been so much more interactive.

My child spent more time with art supplies making a nest for the thing than she has played with it. Her father bought it for her, i never would have. She has lost the shoulder magnet so the thing is worthless. If you get it, spring for the perch. I refused and it lies on its side like a corpse.

My 16 year old niece wanted one (since FOP was her favorite ride). DSIL wouldn't get her one, so DH and I did. She LOVES it! Has it in her room on her dresser reminding her of her trip.

My 7 year old just had to have one too. It was too big for her shoulder really. She tried and tried to make it work on her shoulder at WDW. It just didn't. I think they are made to fit adults. She played with it a bit while at Disney (not on her shoulder). We did buy her the perch. We can home she sat it up on her dresser on the perch. At least it isn't in the box in the closet.

DD(14 at the time) also "had' to have one after riding FoP, and while usually very logical about these things, seems to go out the window at the magical world of Disney! This is exactly why we give the kids their spending money so they can choose what they want until it runs out, and we buy one classic item for the trip like T-shirt or ears. She had money left over for a few mins, but she was ok with it.

My DS (7) had to have one during our last trip in October. The whole process of picking it out was pretty cool and he really enjoyed it. We bought the perch too and he now keeps his banshee on his bookshelf in his room on the perch. It's pricey but I thought it was a cool souvenir for him.

I would get it at the Windtraders store in Pandora if you are going to get one--- more of an experience there I think. However, I will also warn you that they have a make your own Avatar in that store too. My DD walked in- saw the banshees by the door wanted one-- and then saw the make your own Avatar and lost all interest in the banshee. The dolls (okay action figures) are $80. They go through an elaborate process of scanning your face; having you pick out features, and claiming that the doll's face will resemble you. It is supposed to be an Avatar of you. I think you pay for the experience more than the action figure and would certainly take the facial resemblance claim very loosely- but at least DD insists that doll have a place of honor in in our family room and 6 months later, she is still showing it to every friend that comes over.
