Bans on VMK?!

The IP Address type ban actually provides another level of concern I did not think about earlier today. Like GBShorts says, Renewing your ip address after a certain amount of time would probably provide a different ip address therefore allowing you all onto vmk (She Said It Not Me!)...LOL. The concern I have is most isp providers have ranges of ip addresses they assign. Lets say your neighbor down the street was assigned the number 25, and you were assigned 30. Your neighbor actually plays vmk but says some things to get banned, and the next day your ip address renews to 25. An ip address ban would mean you being innocent would not be able to access vmk...There is where my concern lies if this is true...Could you attempt to sign on and post a picture of your message here? I would be curious to see if it says ip address ban, or where you got an ip address ban from...

The message says, "The IP you're accessing VMK from has been banned. The ban expires 8:00 AM 2005-09-22 PDT."

I seriously doubt they will do anything about it, unfortunately. I have been banned once, for 24 hours, for joking that I wanted all my friends to give me their infernos. JOKING. Well, I sent a message to VMK after the ban saying that it was just a JOKE, and they needed to look over the transcripts AGAIN, to see that everybody in the room was laughing and joking. Well, they did look them over...and felt that I was still in the wrong. So, I sent ANOTHER message, asking them to please tell me which VMK rule I had broken (specifically)...and that was almost two weeks ago. No reponse from them. So, I am guessing that once they look it over, that is it, doesn't matter if you are innocent or not. Their decision stands.
I keep wondering if I had just put "jk!!" after what I said, if this wouldn't have happened. I didn't feel the need to at the time, because my friends KNOW I was joking....but I guess VMK thought I was scamming them!

Well I think the "Powers that be" on VMK need to take a second look at the banning procedure they have in place and take into consideration age of banee. I know it is hard to tell who is who and how old someone really is but good gosh almighty what could a 10 year old say that was grounds for having them banned for ONE MONTH. Also I think before any ban is instituted that there should be a written warning in the person mail account in game and out outlining just exactly what they did wrong and warning them that if it happens again they will be banned.

For scammer, who VMK has not taken a hardline against, one report you are warned
2 reports banned for 24 hours
3 reports banned for 72 hours
4 reports banned for life

I hope that you get this figured out! This and a few other reasons are why I splurged on my own laptop and ISP. God bless my own IP.

I am not going to flame you but nothing weird about it 3 strikes and you are out.....

Yea lol! Too bad that my mom said because of this now my sister is the one who will be banned for a month (this is a punishment from her) because of this. Since she didnt listen to the warning and the 1 week ban the FIRST time....! But wow.... I read what you said about some people coming back in 10 years for a ban!? Thats A LOT of time!
