Banned For What?!?!

ok i was changing my siggy on vmk and it said i was banned for giving out personal info..... ok how messed up is that when all i was going to put on my sig was " looking for gray mansion.. bird hat title is dinner" and the funny thing is there where 2 ppl giving personal info about them and i end up getting banned!! what is up with that?!?!?

first thing you should do big time.. 1 Contact Staff. and give as much detail as you can? i think..

Use contact us on the home page asap. Write down where you were, when you were on, what was going on around you, what you were doing, who else was in the room with you, every detail you can think of. If you know which instance of the room you were in, that helps them a lot.

Don't bother in game staff with this since they are not the ones who would be reviewing logs.

BTW, note to all, if you see someone giving out personal information, high tail it out of there asap!

i emailed them and it saided it is gonna take 48 hours! me being banned ends in like 45 minutes! oh well maybe they will clear my name so i can be a CL

Yes, if your ban was vmk's error, there will be no record of it and you can still apply to become a CL.

I've seen this more and more, where entire rooms are being banned for the offenses of one or two players. I hope this trend doesn't continue...

Sorry, nobody knows until it's been changed on the contact us menu. Just keep watching for that on vmk's main page.

they most likely banned you bc if anybody in the room you are in gives out info about real then they ban everybody in the room so if somebody starts talking about themselves LEAVE THE ROOM

I think noon was THE time for bans. Yes, sorry to say, Car got a 2 hr ban as well. I'm sure I'm guiltly, so won't bother with Contact us, but the problem is they put the notice up at the same time it dc you so you can't read the notice to know you were banned and not dc. It happened immediately after I sent a note to someone asking if they lived near DLR or the air port because if they couldn't make it into the park we could do lunch or a drink. I hope she didn't receive a ban on the receiving end.

This isn't necessarily the case...I've been in rooms where people start giving personal info and I let them know not to do that, that it's against VMK values. I've never left the room...and I've never been banned either. SO I don't think they do a full room ban. But the OP's case does sound like it might be a mistake, so I agree with everyone else on using Contact Us to get to the bottom of it!

I was just in the room yesterday with 2 kids giving info on their ages and grade they were in. I nicely let them both know more then once they should not be giving that info out. Sadly the girl that started it had this info already in her sig and I had tried to let her know it wasn't allowed my vmk. I actually reported them when they kept going cause there was alot of people showing up in the same room all of a sudden. I have no clue if they got a warning or banned and don't usually report for things but who knows who was who on the other end of things for real or who else was lurking in that room druing them giving their ages. I wasn't banned from the room and didn't leave cause I had to get up and walk away from my computer. Was gone for a minute or so. And those 2 toons were gone at that point that I came back. Of course I came back to something else that was just disgusting and nothing happened then either. But I do try to leave the room if I see something that someone can end up banned for. Usually I will nicely say something to let them know its not of vmk values. Not sure if I should believe the one was new or not but she started talking about my space and I let her know she shouldn't cause of vmk values and she asked what that was. I told her she really need to go read the games rules. Of course she went back to talking about it with some "boy" and I just went back to my riding the rides. I have never once seen a room warning either in all this time in the game. There have been lots of times it was really needed too for some of these people.

Sorry to go on. Hopefully you get things fixed though for you and the mark is removed cause it sounds like it was a mistake.
