Banking/Transferring/Selling Restrictions

So you can't transfer banked points. You can't sell a contract until a reservation is completed. How about if you transfer points. Are you restricted from selling until these points are used?

No, you can still sell after a transfer. You will not even know if or when the transferred points are actually used since the only transaction you ever see is your transfer of the points, which removes them permanently from your account.

You can't transfer points that were previously banked or borrowed.

What do you mean 'pay for borrowed points'?

You can transfer only "current" use year points, not any that have already been banked or borrowed. You can bank points that have been transfered to you but you cannot borrow them.

Borrowing is what you do when making a reservaiton and you do not have enough current use year or already banked points to cover the reservation. You borrow from the next use year to complete the reservation. There is no charge for borrowing and its only penalty is that once borrowed, the points can never be sent back to their original use year but must be used by end of use year into which they were borrowed.

Where exactly do I find all the answers to these type of questions. What if I have 2 contracts with the same use year same resort. Are these points then combined and all sales restricted until a reservation is completed?

If points were used from both contracts for the reservation, the sale can't close until after the stay is over.

When you book online, it should give you the option to choose the contract you want to use. If you have booked a reservation and have points in another contract that you wish to sell, you can call MS and ask them to reallocate points. However, in order to do this, the points must be eligible to replace what you want replaced.

For example, if you have the same resort/UY, it is not an issue. But, if they are different resorts, you can only get the points allocated if the reservation was booked 7 months or less.
